Bowman racked up a team-high 11 tackles (four solo) in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.

EDGE Analysis

Just another day at the office for the All-Pro linebacker. Bowman even deflected a Cam Newton pass that was ultimately picked off by Antoine Bethea. He appears well on his way to another 100-plus tackle season and is proving why he was considered one of the top IDP options.

Bowman racked up nine tackles (seven solo) and an interception in Monday's shutout of the Rams.

EDGE Analysis

Bowman proved why he is widely regarded as one of the best IDP options out there. He led a 49ers unit that completely shut down star running back Todd Gurley. Bowman also displayed his coverage skills by picking off Case Keenum in the second quarter. He should continue to put up elite tackling numbers and end up among the league leaders by the end of the season.

Bowman is in street clothes on the sideline for Friday's matchup with the Packers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bowman was not on the inactive list for this contest, but it does not appear as though he will participate. There has been no injury reported, so the team is likely resting their veteran linebacker in order to ensure his health heading into Week 1.

Bowman picked up his first two tackles of the preseason in Saturday's win over Denver.

EDGE Analysis

Bowman has been having a quiet preseason, but we shouldn't read too much into that as the 49ers have been focused more on the production of their other middle linebackers who are competing for a shot to start next to Bowman. They key for him is staying healthy as we head towards Week 1. Bowman should be viewed as one of the top IDP options in 2016 after posting a league-leading 154 combined tackles.

Bowman signed a 4-year, $44 million extension with the 49ers on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

The extension will keep Bowman in San Francisco through 2022, and was signed with three years left on Bowman's old contract. The sixth-year inside linebacker bounced back in a huge way last season after suffering a gruesome knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship game and missing the entire 2014 season, leading the league with 154 tackles. Bowman is clearly one of the premiere linebackers in the league, and now has a contract to match. He will look to lead a young 49ers defense that finished 29th in the league with 387.4 total yards allowed per game in 2015.

Bowman (shoulder) finished the season strong with nine tackles (all solo) in Sunday's overtime win over St. Louis.

EDGE Analysis

There was some concern heading into the season surrounding the health of Bowman and whether he would be able to bounced back from the horrific knee injury that held him out for the entirety of the 2014 season. He put those worries to rest in 2015, setting a new career-high in tackles (154) while also leading the entire league in that category as well. Bowman is under contract through the 2019 season, so he will continue to be the centerpiece in a San Francisco defense that will need more reinforcements this offseason. As long as he is healthy, he should be treated as one of the premier IDP options next season.

Bowman (shoulder/finger) wrapped up 10 tackles (eight solo) and also recorded a half sack in Sunday's loss to the Lions.

EDGE Analysis

A week after being named to the Pro Bowl, Bowman showed why he deserved that honor with another double-digit tackle performance. With 145 combined tackles on the year, he has been one of the better IDP players in 2015. The 49ers close out the season at home against the Rams next week, and Bowman should be busy against a Todd Gurley-led running attack.

Bowman (shoulder/finger) is listed as active Sunday at Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

After the 2014 season was wiped out due to ACL and MCL tears in his left knee, Bowman has resumed his status as one of the NFL's tackle machines, sitting one tackle out of the league lead through Week 15. He's powered the resurgence with six outings with double-digit stops, including 30 (23 solo) over the last three contests.

Bowman (shoulder/finger) bounced back after last week's five-tackle day with a dominant 12-tackle (eight solo) performance in the loss to the Bengals.

EDGE Analysis

The Bengals ran the ball 36 times Sunday, and Bowman was a big reason why they averaged under two yards a carry. While it didn't result in his team winning, he reestablished his presence as one of the top IDP options. With the 49ers having no rhythm on offense, opposing teams are likely to feature their run games after going up early, leaving plenty of tackles to be had by Bowman and company. Barring injury, he should finish in the top-5 for tackles in the NFL.

Bowman (shoulder/finger) is active for Sunday's contest versus the Bengals, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game San Francisco reports.

EDGE Analysis

Bowman posted his second-fewest tackles (five) of the season last Sunday, yet he still ranks third among all defenders in the NFL. With fellow tackle machine Michael Wilhoite (ankle) out of commission, Bowman may notch the sixth outing with double-digit stops of the current campaign.
