Ingram enters OTAs at 246 pounds, after losing 20 pounds during the offseason, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

While Ingram never appeared to be out of shape, he's played just 13 games over the last two seasons, and he believes losing weight could help him stay healthy. He's now somewhat on the small side for a 3-4 outside linebacker, but that won't necessarily be an issue when it comes to rushing the passer. The 26-year-old former first-round draft pick had four sacks in nine games last season, finally showing some of the potential that warranted such a high selection. While it's always wise to be wary of the "best shape of his life" stories, Ingram has the right combination of talent, role and health to break out in his fourth season.

The Chargers say Ingram has come to camp in incredible shape and looks impressive in early workouts, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The Bolts are counting on a healthy and productive Ingram to give them a much needed boost in their pass rush. Ingram is now 24 months removed from ACL reconstruction surgery and is said to be back to peak form finally. The hip injury that cost him two months in 2014 is also supposedly fully healed. The Chargers have only seen glimpses of what their former first round pick can do, so his improved health is great news for them.

Ingram (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday's game against the Raiders, Ricky Henne of chargers.com reports.

The return of Ingram, who will see his first game action since Week 2, bolsters the Chargers' pass-rushing depth, but a wait-and-see approach is in order from an IDP perspective.

Ingram (hamstring) has been activated from IR/designated to return, The San Diego-Union Tribune reports

Ingram is expected to play for the first time since Week 2, but there's no guarantee he'll have the same starting role. Rookie outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu is also expected to return from a hamstring injury, joining a position group that already has Jarrett Johnson and Dwight Freeney healthy. All four players figure to get playing time at outside linebacker, which is good for the San Diego defense but probably not Ingram's IDP production.

Ingram (hip) is expected to practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Ingram has been sidelined with a hip/hamstring injury since Week 2, but he is eligible to be activated from IR-R this week, and should be able to play Sunday if he can make it through practice without issue.

Ingram (hamstring, hip) was placed on injured reserve-designated to return Saturday, San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

It's a tough loss for the Chargers, as Ingram, the 18th overall pick in 2012, is currently tied for the league lead with eight quarterback hurries. He won't be eligible to play again until Week 11, meaning San Diego will have to lean heavily on the likes of Jerry Attaoechu (hamstring) and sixth-round pick Tourek Williams, though the team could move Reggie Walker to the outside or add Cordarro Law from the practice squad.

Ingram is out for Sunday's game in Buffalo due to a hamstring/hip issue, BuffaloBills.com reports.

Ingram has eight tackles and a sack as a starter for the Bolts so far and played impressively in last week's win over the defending champion Seahawks, so this is a bit of a loss for the team as it prepares to face a team that leans run-heavy.

Ingram had four tackles, one sack and one forced fumble on Sunday against the Seahawks.

This was one of Ingram's best day as a pro as he helped the Chargers beat the defending champs by keeping Marshawn Lynch and company relatively in check all afternoon. A big assist goes to the Chargers offense however, as the Bolts dominated time of possession in the game.

Now 15 months removed from his ACL tear, Ingram looks more comfortable on the field and is expected to greatly improve the Chargers' pass rush this season, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Ingram is expected to start tonight against the Cowboys, but he will likely be in a heavy rotation with Dwight Freeney and rookie Jerry Attaochu at one outside linebacker spot this season. Still, Ingram has looked faster and more confident in training camp and could be set to have a big year as he matures in his third season in the league.

Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram will be 16 months removed from his torn ACL when Week 1 arrives.

Ingram blew out his knee during OTAs last offseason and eased his way back into the mix for the final quarter of the season. He'll enter this season far closer to 100 percent and ready to capitalize on his substantial athletic upside as he bookends Dwight Freeney. Ingram projects to improve significantly on the 41 tackles, one sack and five pass breakups he posted as a rookie in 2012.
