Cassel, Weeden and Osweiler are low-end backup options, but at least they have some real NFL experience.

Matt Cassel Wins Lions Backup Quarterback Job rotoballer.com Sun 9/2/18 10:40 AM

Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Cassel has won the preseason battle to be the team's backup quarterback, as Jake Rudock was cut during Saturday's wave of roster cuts. Cassel and Rudock had been competing to back up Matthew Stafford this preseason. Cassel was the front-runner entering camp based off of his experience in the league. Meanwhile, Rudock had the better preseason numbers, but it's clear the team values Cassel's experience. If anything were to happen to Stafford this season, the offense [...]

Matt Cassel Expected To Win Backup Job rotoballer.com Sun 7/22/18 11:20 AM

Cassel played in just parts of six games with the Titans the last two seasons and can obviously be ignored in fantasy unless Stafford is injured.
