Houston signed a one-day contract Wednesday to retire as a member of the Raiders.

Houston hasn't seen game action since 2017 but made his retirement official this week. The eight-year veteran spent time with the Raiders, Bears and Texans, and he totaled 302 tackles, 30 tackles, five forced fumbles and one interception in 100 career games.

Houston recorded 17 tackles and five sacks in nine games played with both the Texans and the Bears.

EDGE Analysis

Houston only collected one sack in four games with the Texans, but after the Bears claimed him off waivers, he ended the season with four sacks in five games. He's now an unrestricted free agent who'll likely find work as a situational pass rusher who's demonstrated the ability to create sacks, although his landing spot will ultimately determine his fantasy value.

Houston collected a pair of sacks along with three tackles in Saturday's defeat to the Lions.

EDGE Analysis

Houston took advantage of a decimated Detroit offensive line, leading to a huge two-sack performance. He's now posted at least one sack in each of his three games since rejoining the Bears, and he's been an outstanding IDP option after doing very little in his time with the Texans earlier this season.

It appears he'll play in a reserve role for the Bears, who have a strong starting four linebackers.

He now may look to a team hoping to bolster their linebacking corps for a playoff push, as the 30-year-old brings plenty of veteran experience to the table.

Houston recovered a fumble and scored the Texans' first touchdown in Sunday's 20-14 loss to Indianapolis.

Houston, who was signed to the Texans roster after J.J. Watt (leg) and Whitney Mercilus (pectoral) were lost for the season, played 47 snaps Sunday, his most since joining the Texans.
