Evans announced his retirement Monday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
In three years with the Jaguars from 2013-15, Evans played in at least 15 games and registered 50-plus tackles in all three seasons. His best campaign came in 2014, when he tallied 90 tackles (62 solos), two passes defended and two fumbles recovered. However, since 2015, the Florida product has only seen action in two NFL games and has ultimately decided to call it quits on his pro career.

Evans was released by the Redskins on Thursday, Stephen Czarda of the Redskins' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans and fellow safety Earl Wolff were sent packing on Thursday as the team decided to bring in two new safeties for training camp, Stefan McClure and Tim Scott. Evans only played in two games for the Redskins last season, fulfilling more of a depth role in the secondary. Only 26, the safety could catch on elsewhere in time for the beginning of the regular season.

Evans was signed to the Redskins active roster Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans played with the Redskins early in the season and was resigned as a result of veteran safety Donte Whitner being moved to injured reserve. Look for Evans to serve as a depth safety who could help out on special teams as well.

Evans (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Evans, a depth option at safety, signed on with the Redskins three weeks ago and played in each of the team's last two games. However, with no injury reported, he simply appears to be a healthy scratch.

Evans signed a contract with the Redskins on Wednesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans' signing comes on the heels of the Redskins placing David Bruton (concussion) on IR and signing Donte Whitner. Facing a slew of injuries to their secondary the team needed to add depth, which is exactly what Evans and Whitner are. Likely the fourth or fifth option at safety, Evans may not see much time unless more injuries force the team to play him.

Evans was released by Jacksonville on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans hasn't managed to stick on anywhere for long in his NFL career and his release doesn't come as much of a surprise.

Evans is active Sunday against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
With Jonathan Cyprien active as well, Evans will be backing up at strong safety against a Colts' offense that will be without Andrew Luck.

Evans (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Evans was forced to leave last Sunday's game against the Patriots with an injured knee, but it looks like he will be good to go this Sunday against the Colts. He will likely fill in for injured safety Sergio Brown, who was unable to practice Friday and is listed as doubtful on the team's injury report.

Evans (knee) is questionable to return Sunday against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Evans was starting for Jonathan Cyprien, who is inactive today. This is a big blow to the Jaguars defense, and they'll need to shuffle personnel to cover his loss if he can't return.

Evans appears to have a firm grasp on the starting free safety job after Winston Guy was cut Monday, the Florida Times-Union reports. The Jags parted ways with Guy after a string of poor performances to open the season, which should leave Evans as the unquestioned starter. Evans, whose foot injury opened the door for Guy to start, replaced Guy in the second half of the Indianapolis game in Week 3 and started Week 4's loss to San Diego. On the season, Evans has 26 combined tackles and one pass defended.
