Kylen Granson -- a 2021 fourth-rounder -- profiles as the team's top option at the position currently under contract for 2022.

Before exiting last week's win over the Cardinals in the first quarter, Doyle had played at least 54 percent of the Colts' offensive snaps in each of the team's first 14 games, averaging 2.9 targets per contest.

Though Doyle participated fully in Friday's practice, his absences from workouts Wednesday and Thursday might have been reason enough for the Colts to give him a designation heading into the weekend. Provided Doyle didn't experience any setbacks with his ankle during Friday's practice, he's a good bet to avoid the inactive list Sunday and serve as the No. 1 option in the Colts' three-man tight end committee. After Doyle played just two snaps before exiting last week's win over the Cardinals due the ankle injury, Mo-Alie Cox (90 percent snap share) saw the bulk of the work at tight end while rookie Kylen Granson (44 percent) was a distant second in playing time for the position group.
