Doyle has announced his retirement from the NFL.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2013, finished the 2021 campaign with 29 catches (on 43 targets) for 302 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. With the 31-year-old no longer in the mix and Mo Alie-Cox eligible to become an unrestricted free agent, the composition of the Colts' tight end corps this coming season remains to be determined. Kylen Granson -- a 2021 fourth-rounder -- profiles as the team's top option at the position currently under contract for 2022.

Doyle will take some time this offseason to weigh retirement after catching one of two passes for 11 yards in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Jaguars, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old is under contract for $5.45 million in 2022 but is considering hanging up his cleats following his ninth NFL campaign. Doyle finished 2021 with 29 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns while splitting snaps at tight end with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson.

Doyle (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle was absent from the injury report Wednesday before practicing in a limited fashion Thursday, but he was able to close out the week with no limitations. The 31-year-old has only one reception in three games since the Colts' Week 14 bye, so he doesn't offer much fantasy upside as he continues to split snaps with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson at tight end.

Doyle (knee) was limited at practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle practiced fully Wednesday, so it remains to be seen if the tight end's limitations were maintenance-related or indicative of an in-practice setback. Friday's injury report will determine whether or not Doyle approaches Sunday's regular-season finale with an injury designation.

Doyle (ankle/knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Though Doyle was listed as questionable heading into Sunday, he didn't look to be at major risk of sitting out after he upgraded to full participation in practice Friday. As per usual, Doyle is expected to serve as the lead option of a three-man tight-end committee that includes Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson. Before exiting last week's win over the Cardinals in the first quarter, Doyle had played at least 54 percent of the Colts' offensive snaps in each of the team's first 14 games, averaging 2.9 targets per contest.

Doyle (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Though Doyle participated fully in Friday's practice, his absences from workouts Wednesday and Thursday might have been reason enough for the Colts to give him a designation heading into the weekend. Provided Doyle didn't experience any setbacks with his ankle during Friday's practice, he's a good bet to avoid the inactive list Sunday and serve as the No. 1 option in the Colts' three-man tight end committee. After Doyle played just two snaps before exiting last week's win over the Cardinals due the ankle injury, Mo-Alie Cox (90 percent snap share) saw the bulk of the work at tight end while rookie Kylen Granson (44 percent) was a distant second in playing time for the position group.

Doyle (knee/ankle) returned to practice Friday, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle's participation level and subsequent injury designation should add a degree of clarity with regard to his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Raiders, however his return to the field Friday is a positive sign after the tight end missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday.

Doyle (knee/ankle) remained absent at practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle was hurt in the first half of last week's game against the Cardinals and has missed each of the Colts' first two practices in preparation for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Mo Alie-Cox will work as the Colts' top tight end if Doyle's unable to suit up against Vegas.

Doyle (knee/ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
With the pair of injuries forcing Doyle to exit early from Saturday's win over the Cardinals, fellow tight end Mo Alie-Cox handled a season-high 90 percent snap share and caught two of four targets for 42 yards. Alie-Cox thus stands to have some sleeper/deep-league appeal for Week 17 if Doyle isn't able to play against the Raiders on Sunday. The Colts also have rookie Kylen Granson, an undersized pass-catching specialist.

Doyle exited Saturday's game at Arizona in the first half due to ankle and knee injuries, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle wasn't targeted prior to his departure. Deemed doubtful to return, the Colts likely will play out the rest of the contest with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson at tight end.
