Vincent Jackson caught five passes for 79 yards in Thursday night's Week 8 loss to the Panthers.
Jackson wasn't able to get anything going downfield with Mike Glennon and got the majority of his yardage in the second half with the Bucs playing from behind. He secured just five of his 13 targets, with his longest catch of the night going for 29 yards. Jackson was wasn't able to find the end-zone after scoring fours touchdowns over his last two games. He'll remain a borderline WR1 despite another tough matchup against the Seahawks in Week 9.
VJAX has some tasty matchups after this stretch of 3 tough D's - Car/Sea/Mia (5th/7th/6th best vs WR FP's) .. .but week 11/12 vs ATL/DET could be another 25pts per game - CAR in WK 13 BUT BUF in WK 14.
i wouldnt say he's anywhere close to a wr1 next week with seattle but idk maybe if he still gets 20 targets or so hes bound to catch atleast 5 of them
yeah I agree WR1 may be too high cuz SEA's secondary is nasty. But the Panthers (another great D) tried to take VJax away and he still got 13 targets. He dropped one but most of the misses were errant throws by Glennon. I learned my lesson last week, its too hard to take a chance and sit him. Of course over half his yards came in two 4th quarter garbage time drives- maybe more of the same (garbage time points) vs. SEA?
ya thursdays game was not looking good at all for him untill real late. atleast by the end of the game his stat line wasnt too bad. would have been nice to get a garbage time td out of him too but oh well. and ya it is hard to sit jackson, my dumbarse sat him the week glennon took over. i would like to think even with seattle he could have 5-7 catches 80 yards and a td
Having Desean Jackson, victor cruz and vincent jackson i never know when to sit him or not because all of them are somewhat consistent, but one of em always blows up and lately its been vjax
do you have a flex spot lefties? In my league desean is #3, cruz is 7th and Vincent has crept up to 13th. i'd say play all 3 unless you have better options ofcourse with your rbs
