The Boston Globe confirms the Patriots will re-sign WR Deion Branch to replace the injured Donte' Stallworth.
That was quick. The Pats had released Branch twice since August because he struggles to separate from cornerbacks at age 33. On the positive side, he's schooled in Josh McDaniels' offense and has complete trust from Tom Brady. Branch will likely jump right into the third receiver role, though he is without fantasy value down the stretch.
You've got to admire the way Belichick plays his version of 'Fantasy Football'.
Player injured? Slot in the next one out there. Another season ending injury? Rinse and repeat. Contrast the Dolphins who don't seem to have any sort of speed dial list despite obvious need at the WR position.
