Starks rushed 10 times for 39 yards in Sunday's game versus the Panthers. He also caught six of his eight targets for 83 yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Due to the ineffectiveness of Eddie Lacy and the Packers falling behind by a large deficit, Starks saw an increase in snaps and took full advantage. He was the most productive Packers offensive player on the day, outside of Aaron Rodgers, and is seemingly stepping into a larger role. Lacy figures to remain the starter for now, despite his struggles, but Starks has seemingly earned a larger role. The Packers will host the Lions in Week 10.

Making Eddie Lacy look like trash....

thor6977 Sun 11/8/15 9:35 PM

Starks is out playing lacy big time , The Packers will use him more and more. He ran very well in our last push to the Superbowl( did great in the playoffs)

I seem to remember the experts telling us not to get too excited about Devonta Freeman being named the starter in Atlanta. Thanks, experts: that stopped me from picking him up, and I had too low a waiver priority to get him when everyone else wanted him. I have to think Starks is going to get the most touches, regardless of what they may say publicly about who's starting.

James Starks rushed 10 times for 39 yards in the Packers' Week 9 loss to the Panthers, catching 6-of-8 targets for an additional 83 yards and a touchdown.

Starks was the clear lead runner, especially after Eddie Lacy fumbled with five minutes remaining in the first half. However, the vast majority of his production came with the Packers playing catch up in quarters three and four. There's been a window for Starks to seize No. 1 duties as Lacy struggles, but he's not good enough to do it. Although he's been better than Lacy, Starks is still averaging only 4.28 yards per carry. For now, Starks will be the 1A as Lacy tends to 1B duties, but Lacy should still ultimately be the No. 1 down the stretch. Nov 8 - 6:20 PM (rotoworld.com)

Only 4.28 yards per carry? Give the man the ball enough and that equals numbers. Especially if the packers would allow him to get into a rhythm.

Jo-MAma Mon 11/9/15 11:46 PM

Really. 'Only' 4.28YPC?

housebuster Tue 11/10/15 8:09 AM

This is James Starks were talking about. Really people? A 75% healthy Lacy towers over Starks. Now we just gotta get healthy

JayP-rez Tue 11/10/15 9:06 AM

lacy is 100% healthy according to the coaches last week

WildThings Tue 11/10/15 9:19 AM

Just make Starks the starter....I need an rb for this week!!

LordHendrix Tue 11/10/15 10:29 AM

Only 4.28 Yards per carry? Lmao

drunkOctopus Tue 11/10/15 12:28 PM

Starks does well because of the QB threat. If their line could make a few improvements, Starks and Lacy would do much better.

TunaInWater Tue 11/10/15 1:32 PM

Eye test says starks looks much more explosive than lacy and I dont think coach is that hard headed so starks will get his chances but im guessing we will start to see more of a 50/50 with starks being the third down and passing back

TunaInWater Tue 11/10/15 1:34 PM

Which is too bad cuz now I will have less of a chance to get a cheap lacy burger on mondays at the local a&w for lacy 100 yd games

sml693 Tue 11/10/15 2:51 PM

^ Lacy looks like hes had quite a few of those burgers

CroMag Tue 11/10/15 6:08 PM

housebuster,

i work at a golf course where some of the steelers coaches play and i asked out of curiosity why they drafted bell instead of montee ball or lacey. what i was told was that bell is a difference maker where as the other two are not. specifically about lacey, he's good when there's a big hole and doesn't get slowed down at the line of scrimmage like it is at alabama. anyway, my point is that starks and lacey are both pretty average, with starks being slightly better.

NathanG Tue 11/10/15 7:05 PM

4.28ypc?????

SpecialEFX Wed 11/11/15 12:08 AM

CroMag, sooooooo the last 2 years of Lacy RB1 production was just a mirage???

JayP-rez Wed 11/11/15 9:00 AM

those 2 yrs he was in football shape, now he's just a shape round!!

drunkOctopus Wed 11/11/15 12:43 PM

And McCarthy says Starks is the number 1 RB now. Sweet.

CroMag Thu 11/12/15 5:53 PM

specialefx,

yes. it was a mirage. he's just average. lacey benefited from a very potent passing attack. but without jordy nelson, the attack isn't as menacing.

drunkOctopus Thu 11/12/15 7:11 PM

It looks to mostly be the OL struggling..

SpecialEFX Thu 11/12/15 7:39 PM

...except that Starks seems to make it work when he's running the ball. So....

drunkOctopus Thu 11/12/15 11:46 PM

He's barely better in YPC, and can fit through smaller holes.

Jo-MAma Fri 11/13/15 7:15 AM

LOL soooo many Lacy owners that can't face reality. Good luck with his 3 PPG the rest of the season.

drunkOctopus Fri 11/13/15 12:41 PM

I have Rodgers and Cobb, wish their line could give him more time and open holes for the run. Everyone would benefit.

TunaInWater Fri 11/13/15 11:49 PM

Have a feeling they are in for a big day after he missed cobb in the end zone last week, plus I will be there and ive only seen one lose from the texans in my 20 years of going to packer games. I smell 5 td passes...

drunkOctopus Sun 11/15/15 6:05 PM

What the vrap man, you jinxed them!

TunaInWater Sun 11/15/15 6:08 PM

Im sick
