Richardson's suspension for conduct detrimental to the team voids the guarantee for his $3.184 million base salary in 2015, Joel Corry of the National Football Post reports.
Richardson was suspended for the Colts' final playoff game, and he'll be suspended for Week 1 of the 2015 season, if he's still on the Indianapolis roster. It's pretty clear that he won't be on the roster, so the real issue is whether the Colts will have to eat the $3.184 million in dead money. This has been a rather unusual sequence of events, and Richardson will almost certainly file a grievance.
I was desperate for a running back while drafting my fantasy team during Richardson's rookie season. I traded the sixth overall pick and A.J. Green to move up to the first pick to take him (in a keeper league). The jury is still out on who got the better of that deal.
so he was only set to get 3.1 mil in guaranteed salary next year? thats not that bad for the team. and now it has been voided? why bother to cut him then? he is now playing for incentives that he prob wont get. so they save the hard money but lose it in the cap space and can keep the player. big deal. i would be happy if i was a colts fan. sounds like a good deal for the team.
Yeah, might as well keep him, you wont get shyt for him now... Unless you have someone better than him to take over immediately, which probably wouldnt be too hard, you gotta keep him

Getting rid of him for a first round pick is probably the smartest thing the Browns did in their team history

Why cut him???... Because he is one of the worst backs in the league and is a complete waste of roster space.

Gridiron, couldn't agree more.

no one will offer up anything more than a conditional pick. the guy is a bust. keep him as a goal line back and because he will be playing for free.

I'd rather take a chance on a practice squad guy than to keep Richardson on my roster. You know what you get with Richardson.... nothing. JMHO.
