Redskins placed TE Fred Davis on injured reserve with a torn left Achilles' tendon, ending his season.
He finishes the season with 24 catches for 325 yards and no touchdowns in seven appearances. Davis blocked more than expected in Washington's RG3- and Alfred Morris-centric offense, and his stats were well off the previous year's pace. When the "offseason" begins, the Redskins will probably try to re-sign Davis to a much cheaper deal than he would have commanded had he made it through his contract year healthy. He's headed for unrestricted free agency, and will be rehabbing for the majority of the next 6-8 months.
