Mayo (knee) has been placed on IR by the Patriots, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports. Running back Stevan Ridley was also placed on IR, allowing the Patriots to promote offensive lineman Chris Barker and running back Jonas Gray from their practice squad in advance of Thursday's game against the Jets.
