Johnson had 16 carries for 83 yards and caught all three of his targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson looked quick and fast on a number of runs, also using jump cuts to make defenders miss. Meanwhile, David Johnson ran the ball just three times, although he caught four passes for 63 yards with a touchdown. The rookie RB did lose a costly fumble on the opening kickoff though. Andre Ellington (knee) still hasn't returned, but coach Bruce Arians said Chris Johnson will still be heavily involved. The Cardinals will try to get back in the win column next week at Detroit.

Chris Johnson rushed 16 times for 83 yards in the Cardinals' Week 4 loss to the Rams.

He caught all three of his pass-game targets for 11 yards. With Andre Ellington (knee) being held out, Johnson dominated backfield touches, out-carrying rookie David Johnson, 16-3. Chris continues to look spry and shifty with some juice in his legs and picked up some chunk gains against an aggressive Rams defense. Ellington should be back Week 5 against the Lions, but CJ2K remains the favorite to lead this backfield in carries for the time being. He's a low-end RB2. Oct 4 - 7:55 PM (rotoworld.com)

Fantasy owners who missed the game- CJ did dominate the lead back role, but you should know DJ came in on at least 2 short yardage plays converting on one of 2. The rookie Johnson also was in the 2 minute pass offense before the half and to end the game, He scored on a 20 yard pass. Makes you wonder where Ellington fits in for the Cards.

Thanks for the insight. I think Ariens will take his time getting Ellington back into the lineup, and not just because he's concerned about injury. The "Johnson & Johnson plan" seems to be working. They only owe Ellington $585K for this year and $675K for next year, so they don't have a lot of incentive to keep using him.

Sounds all nice for CJ yet he is projected for 2.1 points this week. Something doesn't jive.

Lions D is better than advertised. They are home at 0-4 ready to shred meat. If the Cards play from behind it will be the pass catching backs getting the bulk of the action. There is uncertainty as to what Ellingtons role will be as well. I would look for other options if you have them this week.

Fleaflicker is messed up with their projections...I think they're still going by preseason ratings for players. By comparison, another CJ (Anderson) is projected for 15.6 points this week in my league, whereas he barely has that many total on the season. TrenchWarrior1 is definitely right about the Lions D, but most of that is in the pass rush. The Lions D are 17th in the league in total rushing per game, but a strong 5th in YPC (3.6).

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians expects Andre Ellington (PCL) to return Sunday against the Lions.

Arians said Ellington could have played Sunday against the Rams but the team gave him an extra week to be safe. Ellington was Arizona's lead back before the injury but now it appears Chris Johnson is safely ahead of him. Even with four teams on bye this week, Ellington is merely a flex option. Oct 6 - 8:47 PM
