Fellow Bills running back Fred Jackson said the team plans to give McCoy (neck) over 300 carries this season, WGR 550 reports. "I don't know exactly what my role is going to be," Jackson said. "They say that they want Shady (McCoy) to get 300-plus carries next year. So that's a guy you're feeding the ball all the time. So I''ll be ready when my number is called." McCoy didn't quite look like his old self in his final season running behind a strong offensive line in Philadelphia, but the Bills are clearly banking on a bounce back, even while dealing with some serious questions about their own o-line. Working in his favor, McCoy won't turn 27 until July, and the Bills view him as the offensive centerpiece of a roster that also includes Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, Charles Clay and Fred Jackson. While some combination of Jackson, Bryce Brown, Karlos Williams and Anthony Dixon figure to be involved, McCoy is the clear-cut lead back and should also see plenty of third-down work. Volume is seemingly the least of McCoy's concerns.
