Allen will "probably" start at cornerback in the Jets' second preseason game Saturday against the Bengals, the New York Daily News reports. Allen, a free safety by trade, has been experimented with at cornerback the past couple days amid the Jets' concerning recent injury developments at the position. While rookie Dexter McDougle tore his ACL on Sunday, No. 1 corner Dee Milliner suffered a high ankle sprain during the same practice and Dimitri Patterson (calf) remains on the treatment table. As such, Allen has been thrust into a new position, a move enabled by rookie free safety Calvin Pryor returning from a concussion. Should Allen indeed start at cornerback come Saturday, he would likely be paired against All Pro wideout A.J. Green, providing a stiff test in his debut at the position.
