Kearse (hand) was released from the Patriots' injured reserve list after reaching an injury settlement with the team Thursday, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.

Kearse suffered an injury to his hand over the course of the preseason, but was also treated for a minor stab wound last week following a non-football-related incident. He's since been released from the hospital, but no timetable has been provided for his recovery.

With a total of 43 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 35 games since entering the NFL in 2011, the 6-foot-5, 310-pounder doesn't offer much utility in IDP formats, but the signing of Kearse does bolster the Patriots' defensive line depth.
