Browns released WR Earl Bennett. Bennett made it only 33 days in Cleveland. The fact that he's getting cut loose at this stage of the offseason by a team with perhaps the league's thinnest receiver corps is a terrible sign for his NFL future. That being said, Bennett should latch on elsewhere as a camp body after catching 32 passes for the Bears last season.

Browns signed WR Earl Bennett. With Josh Gordon staring at a lengthy suspension and Nate Burleson re-breaking his arm, the Browns needed help at the position. Bennett is nothing more than a younger Burleson as a chain-moving slot receiver. He was released by the Bears two months ago after refusing a pay cut. Bennett should be coming cheap.

Free agent Earl Bennett's asking price is reportedly too high and needs to come down. Bennett, 27, is far from a household name or difference maker, but at this stage of things he's one of the better receivers on the free-agent market. He was released by the Bears three weeks ago and has yet to make a visit. Bennett is a low-upside slot receiver. He shouldn't be commanding much more than a million bucks.

ESPN Chicago reports Earl Bennett has declined a pay cut and is expected to be released. The Bears will save $2.45 million against the cap by releasing the soon-to-be 27-year-old. Chicago is high on second-year WR Marquess Wilson and he's "emerged" as the favorite for No. 3 duties, behind Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. Wilson is a player whose arrow is pointing straight up in Dynasty.

The Bears have not yet asked WR Earl Bennett to take a pay cut. It's quite possibly because they're going to release him outright. Bennett was not a big part of Marc Trestman's 2013 offense, and cutting him would save $2.45 million in salary cap room. He finished the season with 32 receptions.

Earl Bennett (personal) is inactive for Week 17 against the Packers. It's a loss for the Bears, as Bennett had been a bigger part of the offense over the past six weeks. Also inactive for the NFC North championship game are QB Jordan Palmer, OT Joe Long, G/T James Brown, OT Jonathan Scott, WR Chris Williams and DE Cornelius Washington.

Earl Bennett (personal) is not expected to play in Sunday's 4:25 PM ET clash with the Packers. Bennett missed the entire practice week to attend to an away-from-football matter that has not been disclosed. It's something of a blow to Chicago's offense because Bennett plays around half of the snaps and is a reliable slot/possession receiver. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery may line up inside more.

Indications at Halas Hall Friday were that Earl Bennett (personal) would miss Week 17 against the Packers. Coach Marc Trestman has described the personal matter as a "family issue back home." Bennett didn't practice Thursday or Friday. The Bears signed Chris Williams off the Saints' practice squad this week, indicating they were preparing to be short one receiver. Slot man Bennett has 32 catches on the year.

Earl Bennett caught two catches for 12 yards in Week 16 against the Eagles. Bennett played a minor role in the passing game and caught a two-point conversion at the end of the third quarter. He hasn't been fantasy relevant all year and can continue to be avoided in most formats.
