Bryant (chest) has been placed on the injured reserve list and will sit out the entire season, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Entering his eighth NFL season and fourth with the Browns, Bryant was a lock to start at defensive end after a 2015 campaign which saw him record a career-high and team-leading six sacks. The torn pectoral muscle he suffered earlier this month was originally thought to keep him out 4-to-6 months, making November the soonest possible return date. Rather than push his recovery in the hopes of a return the team decided it best to shut him down for the season. Carl Nassib appears first in line to replace Bryant, but John Hughes and Dylan Wynn could see some extra snaps as well.

Bryant (shoulder) is active Sunday against the Broncos.

EDGE Analysis

Bryant was able to log 29 snaps Week 5 against Baltimore after sitting out back-to-back weeks, so he was fully expected to play in Week 6's home matchup against Denver. He should see plenty of work as a defensive end, but there are likely much safer IDP options out there.

Bryant (shoulder) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Ravens.

EDGE Analysis

Bryant has sat out back-to-back weeks, but will return to the field Sunday in what will presumably be a starting defensive end role. The seven-year pro has logged just four combined tackles so far this season.

Bryant (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Raiders.

EDGE Analysis

Bryant's absence will adversely affect the Cleveland pass rush depth, and effectively bump John Hughes into a starting role. Rookie Xavier Cooper is also expected to be involved in the defensive scheme. After missing practice all week with a shoulder injury, Bryant will now look to return to the practice field in advance of Week 4's matchup with San Diego.

Bryant finished Saturday's preseason game with two tackles (one solo) and two sacks.

EDGE Analysis

Bryant's highlight of the night was recording two sacks on back-to-back possessions against opposing rookie Jameis Winston. He was part of a pass rushing unit that accumulated six total sacks on the evening. Look for Bryant to get a starting role in Mike Pettine's 3-4 defensive scheme, due to both his versatility and ability to make big plays.

Bryant, who did not record a tackle in Sunday's loss to Baltimore, finished the season with 49 tackles (25 solo), five sacks and a forced fumble.

Bryant played in each of the Browns' final 15 games, despite dealing with his fair share of bumps and bruises, and was one of the few steady contributors on the Browns' defensive line. His run-stuffing ability doesn't get recognized on the stat sheets, however, making him unlikely to produce steady numbers for IDP owners.

Bryant (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Bryant's presence will help bolster a thin Cleveland defensive line in the regular season finale. He logged just two combined tackles in Week 16, but with 49 total tackles and five sacks so far this season, Bryant has certainly shown flashes of being a capable IDP option at times.

Bryant (thigh) had four tackles (three solo) and a sack in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Bryant now has two sacks in his past three games, giving him a total of five on the season. He now has 47 combined tackles on the year, but isn't a major factor as an IDP outside of deeper formats.
