Morgan (shoulder) may not be ready when the Titans begin OTA's in May, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports. "Morgan may be a question mark for OTAs. He may be limited. We'll be smart with him," said coach Mike Mularkey on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Morgan underwent season-ending surgery in December after he suffered a torn labrum in October. He will continue to rehab his shoulder in the meantime and it will become increasingly clear as the offseason progresses whether or not he'll be able to participate in OTAs in May.

Morgan recorded six tackles (five solo), along with a sack and a tackle for loss Sunday in Cleveland.

EDGE Analysis

Morgan has gotten off to a fast start rushing the passer, as he already has 3.0 sacks through two weeks in 2015. He's thoroughly outplayed prized free-agent acquisition Brian Orakpo at outside linebacker so far.

Morgan re-signed with the Titans on Friday, agreeing to a four-year, $30 million contract, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Morgan made a successful transition from down lineman to outside linebacker in defensive coordinator Ray Horton's 3-4 scheme last season, compiling 63 tackles and 6.5 sacks. In retaining Morgan and signing Brian Orakpo from Washington to man the other spot on the outside, the Titans shouldn't have too many issues with generating pass rush, especially with Jurrell Casey still around to cause headaches at defensive end. Morgan is still just 26 years old, so it's certainly possibly that we haven't even seen the peak of his abilities quite yet.

Morgan (knee) is active for Sunday's game at Philadelphia.

If Morgan is one of your IDP options, he is available for consideration, but he may be less than 100% since being limited in practice this week.

Morgan (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, The Tennessean reports.

Morgan was added to the injury report Thursday, likely indicating the issue originated in Wednesday's practice. He was a limited participant in practice both Thursday in Friday, leaving his status in doubt for Sunday.

Derrick Morgan confirms he's been working as an outside linebacker in DC Ray Horton's new 3-4 defense.

A base 4-3 defensive end ever since high school, Morgan has never played in a 3-4. "Now that I have been in the defense a couple of months, I love it. It may be a blessing," Morgan said. "I never thought I would drop in coverage, but now that I am doing it, it is becoming more natural." Morgan is down to 260 pounds after playing near 270 last season. He'll likely play with his hand in the dirt on obvious passing downs. We also can't rule out a trade.

The Nashville Tennessean expects Derrick Morgan to play outside linebacker in DC Ray Horton's 3-4 defense.

Morgan has never played outside linebacker; he's been a 4-3 base defensive end dating all the way back to his college days at Georgia Tech. Edge rushers are edge rushers in today's game, so it might not be as big of a deal as it seems on paper. But with Kamerion Wimbley, Shaun Phillips, and Akeem Ayers also in the mix at outside 'backer, it's going to be a big training camp for Morgan.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt singled out LE Derrick Morgan as a player that impressed him after reviewing tape from last season.

Morgan, the 16th overall pick in 2010 and "offseason star" of camp last summer, registered 34 tackles and six sacks in 14 starts this past season. Pro Football Focus graded him out as a top-six pass rusher among 4-3 ends. The Titans are expected to transition to more of a 3-4 scheme under new DC Ray Horton, though they'll likely be "multiple" with their alignments. Most draft analysts in 2010 didn't like Morgan's potential fit in a 3-4. Some thought he possessed enough pass-rush skills for it. Morgan is 6-foot-3, 278.
