Levy (knee) still isn't fully healed from the knee injury that prematurely ended his 2016 season, ESPN's Michael Rothstein reports. "I won't be cleared until November, December," Levy said.
EDGE Analysis
Levy is filing a grievance against the Lions claiming the team medically cleared him -- before cutting him a day later -- when the linebacker wasn't even healthy enough to get into his linebacker stance. Prior to the injury, Levy was one of the top 4-3 linebackers in the league and wants to resume his playing career if he heals well from hip, knee and back injuries. Apparently five or six teams have already reached out to him this offseason.

Levy underwent surgery on his right knee in an effort to repair a torn meniscus suffered during the 2016 season, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Levy was released by the Lions back in March after playing only six games during the last two seasons. Injuries have plagued the linebacker after a stellar stretch of play in 2013 and 2014, but if he is able to get healthy again, he should see an opportunity to play on an NFL club. Levy has recorded 639 tackles, 12 interceptions and two forced fumbles over his eight-year NFL career.

The Lions are releasing Levy, the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Limited to just six appearances over the last two seasons, Levy has been unable to make good on the four-year, $37 million contract he signed before the 2015 campaign. The Lions may still have interest in retaining him at a reduced price, as Levy was an elite performer in 2013 and 2014, tallying 270 tackles and seven interceptions while playing in all 32 games. He'll turn 30 in late March.

EDGE Analysis
After missing the bulk of the season due to quad and knee injuries, Levy has suited up for each of the last four games, accruing 17 tackles (15 solo) while logging 51 percent of the defensive snaps.

Levy (knee) is questionable to play in Week 17 versus the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Levy has nursed a troublesome knee all season and was listed as a limited participant in every practice the Lions held this week. With no reported setbacks and the NFC North championship on the line, we suspect Levy will we be cleared to play prior to the start of Sunday's game.

Levy (knee) is active for Monday's game at Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Despite logging just 47 percent of the Lions' defensive snaps in Week 15, Levy easily doubled his previous season high in tackles with eight, all solo. He continues to be a limited practice participant, likely as a precaution due to the knee injury that forced 11 consecutive absences earlier this season. No matter, he could explode on the tackle front if he's ever allowed to earn the majority of reps on game day.

Levy (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Levy notched four tackles last week in his return from an 11-game absence, so he'll look to improve upon that performance in Week 15 as he figures to get the start at outside linebacker.

Levy (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Levy returned to the field for the first time since Week 1 in Sunday's win over the Bears. He recorded four tackles in the process. The team limited his workload at practice all week, but it is unclear if they were just exercising caution or if the linebacker had suffered any setbacks. He seemingly appears on track to play Sunday, but a final decision on his status will not be determined until closer to game-time.
