Harris announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to his surprising release last summer, Harris was a consistent force in the middle of the Jets' defense for years after the team traded up to select the Michigan product in the second round of the 2007 draft. He ultimately racked up the second-most tackles in Jets history (1,087) during his 10 seasons with Gang Green and goes down as one of the team's all-time great defenders despite being perennially underrated by the media. Combined with his one-year stint in New England, Harris will finish his career with 1,109 tackles, 36.5 sacks, six interceptions and 11 forced fumbles over 164 career games.

Harris compiled four tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks against the Bills on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
This was the first full sack Harris has recorded since the 2015 season. Although he's listed as the top middle linebacker, Harris logged just 25 defensive snaps (37 percent). It was a decent showing for Harris, but until he can play a full workload it'll be tough to become a top IDP threat.

Harris (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of multiple veterans purged from the rebuilding Jets roster in the offseason, Harris landed in New England on a two-year contract. The 33-year-old was expected to vie for a starting role, but with the Patriots settling on Dont'a Hightower, Kyle Van Noy and Elandon Roberts as their three linebackers, Harris hasn't been able to see regular action. Harris played just seven defensive snaps in the Patriots' first three games, and since he doesn't offer much value on special teams, the Patriots have since made him inactive in two of the past three weeks. Unless an injury to one of the aforementioned players opens up an opportunity, Harris' relevance in IDP formats appears to be over.

Harris is signing a two-year deal with the Patriots, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Released in early June as part of the Jets' offseason purge, the 33-year-old Harris will stay in the AFC East and help his former team's chief rival fill a major need next to Dont'a Hightower in the linebacking corps. Harris had at least 75 tackles in each of his 10 seasons with the Jets, falling shy of the century mark last season (95 in 15 games) for the first time since 2011. His days as a valuable IDP likely are a thing of the past, but he should help the New England run defense while also providing an occasional pass-rushing threat (35.5 career sacks).

Harris is being released by the Jets, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harris' tenure with the Jets comes to an end after ten seasons, as he is the latest of a handful of veterans being released by the team this offseason. A second-round draft pick from Michigan, Harris was the backbone of the Jets' defense for several years, notching 1088 tackles and 35.5 sacks during his 10 seasons in New York, missing only six games during that timespan. While the Jets are opting to get younger, Harris should attract the attention of several teams around the league looking to bolster their linebacking corps. At 33, it seems like veteran still has something left in the tank but he will likely need to take a major pay cut if he hopes to continue his career elsewhere.

Harris posted 11 tackles Sunday against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Harris failed to surpass six tackles in any of his first eight games to start the season, but he's now recorded 11 in each of his last two games. The 32-year-old has been a tackling machine for years, and it appears that he's back on track, making him an excellent player to add in IDP leagues.

Harris (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Harris was back on the field as a full participant since injuring his hamstring in Week 5. The veteran appears likely to take the field against the Ravens, but could see his reps monitored due to the injury. If that is the case, expect Bruce Carter to see some expanded reps this Sunday.

Harris (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harris suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5 and hadn't practiced since, also missing Monday's game against the Cardinals. Now back at practice, it seems he may have a chance of suiting up this week.

Harris (hamstring) has been ruled inactive for Monday night's matchup with the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
This status is unsurprising considering Harris was downgraded to doubtful over the weekend, but it is still notable considering it is his first inactive since Week 13 of 2008. Bruce Carter figures to fill in for the veteran at inside linebacker.

Harris (hamstring) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harris was held out of practice all week and is likely to see his streak of 121 consecutive games played come to an end. Bruce Carter and Darron Lee figure to see extra reps if Harris is held out.
