Johnson has been waived by the Patriots, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
In a corresponding move, the Patriots claimed fellow wideout Leonard Hankerson, with Johnson -- who carried just once for six yards during his brief stint with the Patriots -- now looking for a new depth wideout/return role.

Johnson was a healthy scratch Sunday against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
At this stage, Johnson is an injury or two away from seeing much of a role in the Patriots' offense and is thus off the fantasy radar for now.

Johnson was on the field for just three of the Patriots' 89 snaps on offense in Sunday's 35-28 loss to the Eagles, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson, who carried once for six yards in the game, could see a bigger role down the road, but for now he's getting up to speed with the Patriots' offense after joining the team last week.

Johnson signed with the Patriots on Tuesday, ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2012 UDFA, Johnson has spent time with the Eagles (2012 and 2013) and Texans (2014), catching 52 passes for 601 yards and a touchdown on 83 targets. He could provide help in the slot and/or the return game, but his role will largely depend on the health of New England's other receivers. Should Danny Amendola (knee) miss another week, Johnson might have a surprisingly large role in the offense. However, it's hard to imagine Johnson making much of an impact if Amendola is able to play against the Eagles.

Johnson is auditioning for the Titans, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was released by the Texans in their final round of cuts. He has extensive experience as a kick returner in addition to his role as a wide receiver.

Johnson was released by the Texans on Friday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson put up a 31-331-1 receiving line for the Texans last season, but he needed 50 targets to get there. If he draws any interest around the league, it will likely be as a potential return man.

Johnson re-signed with the Texans on Monday, the Houston Chronicle reports. Johnson accumulated 31 reception for 331 yards and one touchdown with the Texans last season, and it appears he will return to the team in 2015, and is expected to compete for the team's slot receiver position. With Andre Johnson's impending departure, the receiver position heading into next season remains a bit cloudy, but the Texans could add one themselves via free agency or the draft, while Johnson will contend with DeVier Posey and Keshawn Martin for duties in the slot.

Johnson had three catches on three targets for 33 yards in the season-ending win over the Jaguars and finished the 2015 season with 31 catches on 50 targets for 331 yards and one touchdown. He also returned nine punts and six kicks this past season. Johnson was a distant third at wide receiver behind the heavily targeted DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson. The Texans' run-heavy offense left little opportunity for a third wideout. His contract is up in 2015, but his job with Houston isn't secure.

Johnson caught five passes on eight targets for 21 yards in Sunday's win over the Browns. He also rushed one time for six yards. Both the receptions and targets were season highs for Johnson, which is significant because the Texans started a new quarterback, Ryan Mallett, on Sunday. Still, the Texans are a run-first team and Johnson is third on the depth chart behind DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson. We suspect his extensive usage against Cleveland is an anomaly.

Johnson (foot) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Colts, the Texans' official site reports. As long as fellow wideouts DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson are both able to suit up, Johnson's fantasy upside is limited. To date, he has recorded five catches for 71 yards and a TD through five games.
