Allen will likely play cornerback for the rest of the season, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

Allen was forced to switch from safety to corner for depth reasons, and he has played well enough to remain at the position moving forward. He has recorded 17 tackles (16 solo) and five pass deflections through three games this season.

Allen (concussion) has been medically cleared and will start at cornerback in Sunday's regular season opener versus the Raiders, ESPN New York reports.

Allen, a converted safety, suffered a concussion during the Jets' third preseason outing, but returned to practice without a red no-contact jersey on Tuesday. Given New York's injury depleted crop of cornerbacks, Allen is slated to start in Week 1 against Oakland's rookie quarterback Derek Carr.

Allen (concussion) returned to positional drills at Tuesday's practice, the New York Daily News reports.

Allen also practiced without the red no-contact jersey he had been wearing at recent sessions. Following a concussion in the Jets' third preseason game, Allen's chances of suiting up for Sunday's regular season opener appear favorable. Additionally, with Dee Milliner (ankle) still on the mend, the converted safety Allen could very well start at cornerback in Week 1 against the Raiders and rookie quarterback Derek Carr.

The Jets are hopeful that Allen (concussion) will be able to practice Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports.

Allen suffered a concussion earlier in the preseason, and was wearing a red no-contact jersey at Friday's practice. It sounds like he should be back soon, though, and could start at corner Week 1 due to all the injuries in the Jets secondary.

Allen (concussion) will not play in Thursday's preseason finale, the New York Daily News reports.

Allen suffered a concussion during Friday's preseason game, so returning to play an exhibition game less than a week later is hardly a smart option. That's especially true when considering the Jets' currently dire situation at cornerback, where Dee Milliner (ankle) and Dimitri Patterson look iffy for Week 1. A converted safety, Allen could very well start at cornerback should either Milliner or Patterson be ruled out for the beginning of the regular season.

Allen left Friday's preseason game and will likely undergo the NFL's concussion protocol, the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports.

Allen is in the running for a starting cornerback spot on New York's offense, so hopefully he is able to pass the concussion tests. We will update his status when more news is made available.

Allen will "probably" start at cornerback in the Jets' second preseason game Saturday against the Bengals, the New York Daily News reports.

Allen, a free safety by trade, has been experimented with at cornerback the past couple days amid the Jets' concerning recent injury developments at the position. While rookie Dexter McDougle tore his ACL on Sunday, No. 1 corner Dee Milliner suffered a high ankle sprain during the same practice and Dimitri Patterson (calf) remains on the treatment table. As such, Allen has been thrust into a new position, a move enabled by rookie free safety Calvin Pryor returning from a concussion. Should Allen indeed start at cornerback come Saturday, he would likely be paired against All Pro wideout A.J. Green, providing a stiff test in his debut at the position.

Jets S Antonio Allen is getting most of the first-team reps during OTAs.

Allen is competing with S Dawan Landry for the starting safety spot opposite rookie S Calvin Pryor. With all three options solid against the run, the Jets are searching for someone to shore up a pass defense that was one of the worst in the league last season. Allen needs some work in that area, and his progression in coverage during camp will go a long way to determine if he can hold of Landry for the starting job.

Coach Rex Ryan talked up S Antonio Allen following the draft, saying he "really looks forward to seeing what [Allen] does."

The Jets selected Louisville S Calvin Pryor with the 18th pick on Thursday night, but Pryor is expected to replace Dawan Landry in the starting lineup as an in-the-box, run-stopping safety. Allen, a college linebacker, started eight games last season but still needs to improve in coverage. He's solid against the run.
