Dobson was waived by the Lions on Saturday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Dobson had been a spectator in the Lions' offense as of late. The emergence of Marvin Jones made Dobson an expendable piece.

Dobson signed with the Lions on Tuesday, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.

EDGE Analysis

The wideout signed with the Lions a week ago, but was let go by the team just a few days before Sunday's tilt with the Packers in order to make room for extra linebackers on the active roster. Look for him to play in a reserved role Sunday against the Bears as he competes with Andre Roberts for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.

Dobson was released by the Lions on Saturday, James Palmer of NFL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Lions only had two healthy outside linebackers on their roster entering their Week 3 matchup against the Packers. So, the team promoted LB Zaviar Gooden from the practice squad in order to add depth at the position, and Dobson's roster spot was evidently needed to do so. Dobson was just signed to the team on Tuesday and thus didn't appear in a game with Detroit.

Dobson signed a contract with the Lions on Tuesday, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

EDGE Analysis

Dobson worked out for five teams since being cut by the Patriots at the end of the preseason, but has finally landed a roster spot in Detroit. The Lions were thin at wideout with both Corey Fuller (foot) on the PUP list and Ryan Spadola (pectoral) on IR. The 25-year-old Dobson gives the Lions much needed depth at wideout and could figure to contribute in special teams as well.

Dobson has worked out for five teams since he was released by the Patriots, most recently getting a look from the Lions on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.

EDGE Analysis

A 2013 second-round selection, Dobson flashed potential as a rookie but didn't have much of a role the past two seasons. If he does find a job this season, he'll likely have to work his way up a depth chart from the bottom.

Dobson was waived by the Patriots on Saturday, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

EDGE Analysis

Dobson has been a reserve in New England for the past few seasons, but has never been able to be productive, even when opportunities presented themselves. He was buried on the Patriot's depth chart once again and will now be looking for work.

Dobson caught three of seven targets for 61 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

Dobson, whose effort Thursday was highlighted by a 38-yard grab, may have had his chances of sticking with the Patriots (as cuts approach) boosted by an undisclosed injury suffered by fellow wideout Keshawn Martin.

The Patriots are said to be shopping Dobson, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.

EDGE Analysis

With the 2013 second-rounder on the roster bubble, it makes sense that the Patriots might field offers for Dobson, though it's unlikely that they'd get much more than a conditional late-round pick in return for him.

Dobson caught two of his three targets for 49 yards in Friday's preseason win over the Panthers.

EDGE Analysis

With Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell viewed as roster locks, Dobson is looking to stick with the Patriots as a depth wideout. Competing with the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder for slotting on that front are Keshawn Martin, Chris Harper, DeAndre Carter and Devin Lucien, following the release of Nate Washington. While limited to eight games in 2015, Dobson recorded 13 catches for 141 yards.

Dobson caught one of his two targets for 10 yards in Thursday's preseason win over the Bears.

EDGE Analysis

Dobson probably didn't help his cause with a drop in the contest, with the Patriots' 2013 second-rounder still battling for a depth wideout slot with Keshawn Martin, Nate Washington, Chris Harper, DeAndre Carter and Devin Lucien.
