Giants released LB Aaron Curry. The former No. 4 overall pick in the draft continues to prove himself a total bust. The most telling sign for Curry's roster chances was that he was a bubble player who didn't even earn significant preseason snaps.

Giants LB Aaron Curry -- the former No. 4 overall pick of the Seahawks -- admitted that the money he earned as a high draft pick changed him and caused him to lose his motivation. "I was just selfish and self-centered," Curry said. "I was more about me than I was the Seahawks at the time. I was more focused on my own desires versus the franchise and the team. It was immaturity, and I'm glad I got past that stage." Curry inked a six-year, $60 million deal with $34 million guaranteed in 2009. He lasted just two and a half seasons in Seattle, and he surely isn't the first or last rookie that felt invincible after receiving a fat paycheck. Fortunately for NFL teams, the new rookie wage scale makes it a bit easier to compete and get rid of a first-round bust. It's an interesting story, and Curry, 27, is now playing for the veteran's minimum in New York.

Giants signed LB Aaron Curry, formerly of the Raiders. Curry, 27, has made 39 career starts primarily as a strong-side linebacker in Seattle and Oakland. He appeared in only two games last year due to chronic knee soreness. Ostensibly healthy, Curry will fight for snaps at SAM 'backer with Keith Rivers and/or Mark Herzlich. The Giants' linebacker depth chart is wide open, so Curry has found a good spot to potentially resurrect his career.

Updating a previous item, free agent LB Aaron Curry stayed at the Giants facility for this weekend's minicamp after his Thursday visit. Coach Tom Coughlin said Curry was still at club headquarters for "a tryout," indicating the team wants to see him perform drills on the field. Curry has battled knee problems in recent years. "We brought him back in this morning and talked to him a little bit," Coughlin said. "We'll see where it goes."

The Giants were likely just checking out Curry's knees and putting together their emergency list. Curry has worked out for the Bengals, Bears, and Giants since being released by the Raiders last November. Seven teams have reportedly shown interest in him this offseason.

Free agent LB Aaron Curry will visit the Giants on Thursday. Curry, the No. 4 overall pick in 2009, appeared in two games for the Raiders last season, making one tackle. He was later released in November and never latched on elsewhere. Curry, 27, is reportedly drawing interest from "several teams," but he's going to have to show he's over his knee issues.

Raiders released LB Aaron Curry. Curry missed most of the offseason, all of camp, and the first eight games with knee soreness. Activated from the PUP list, he played just 15 snaps versus the Ravens and three against the Saints last week. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 draft may have to prove that his knee is at full strength before landing another job.
