Coach Jay Gruden indicated that Griffin is progressing and did some team drills at practice Wednesday, but suggested that "the big thing" will be how the quarterback's ankle feels Thursday morning, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports. While the strides that Griffin has made are promising, Gruden doesn't sound inclined to rush the QB back at this stage, noting Wednesday, "if it's another week, two weeks after the bye, so be it." For now, it appears that Washington is preparing as though Colt McCoy will start Monday's game against Dallas, with Gruden adding Wednesday that he would like to have a determination with regard to his team's Week 8 signal-caller by Thursday afternoon.
