Johnson (ankle) is not practicing Friday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Head coach Jim Caldwell said Friday morning that he has not made a decision (at least publicly) about whether Johnson will play Sunday against the Vikings, but all signals seem to indicate that the star receiver will sit out in order to give his injured ankle a chance to heal. The Lions may show their hand when they release their official injury designations Friday, or they may let this decision go all the way to game day.

I think the "Calvin as a decoy" act has run its course. If he's not ready to play, no one's going to fall for it, so why risk further injury? The fact that he's even considering playing him is encouraging for the rest of the season, though: I was worried when I heard "high ankle sprain".

Caldwell came right in and made one of the most exciting teams in football as boring as he is.

Hahahaha drop him! Please! That would make me feel a lot better about dropping Charles before last year even started.

I'd drop Matthews for Beckham, yeah. Matthews is 2nd on the team in targets (to Maclin), but he hasn't done much with that (except for 1 game).

Haven't you ever heard of pregame planning. ..the longer they wait the less time their opponent has time planning. Every little advantage no matter how small contributes
