In the Patriots' roster projection posted Monday by ESPN's Mike Reiss, Ridley is listed as a possible odd man out.
The report is admittedly speculative in nature and such an outcome would be very surprising, but Ridley's low snap count (11) in Friday's third preseason game caught Reiss' eye. Meanwhile, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe predicts that Ridley will stick, which seems a much more likely scenario, with the running back's past fumbling issues presumably the reason that at this stage there would be any question surrounding his potential role with the Patriots this coming season.

Please trade this poor guy!!! I get that fumbling the ball isn't a good thing, but come on Belichich! It's part of the game and always will be. Over his career Ridley has fumbled 1 time for every 62 carries. Adrian Peterson is 1/65. Ridley has also gained 4.5 YPC for his career, which ain't bad. He has a total of 9 fumbles in his 3 year career and has never had more than 4 in a season. He could do great things for another team. I get that Tom Brady is first ballot HOF and all, but he has thrown 1 INT for every 49 passing attempts through his career. I'm in no way saying that's bad. He's an all time great QB. He certainly hasn't taken hits like a running back, though. 1/62, 1/49??? What's that Bill? None of those INT's were Tom's fault? Thanks for straightening that out.
Hey, listen, Bill belichick is way smarter than any of us and he will always make the right decision every time. He does not take bad players and he does not let good players go. Except in the case of Aaron Hernandez. And Joey Galloway. And Dante Stallworth. And Wes Welker. And Laurence Maroney. And Kyle Arrington. And Ryan Mallet. And... (three hours later)... And Tim Tebow. And Joseph Addai. Other than that, he's always right. So let's not second guess him. Ever..........
JohnLazar, I'm glad that that's the only thing you took from my rant. Knew it was only a matter of time. Actually, the only comparison made was regarding the two player's fumble percentages. Just made sense to use 1 of the best and most consistent RB's in the league to make an argument for Ridley. Give the guy a chance is all i'm saying. That and the fact that Belichick's brain has worked so hard that it now moves in reverse. Hence, 10 year super bowl drought.
Ridley and Vereen are both in a contract year, i see them both doing spectacular this year. Especially Vereen. I think he's gonna have a pro bowl year.
