Gabbert was atrocious in Thursday's preseason opener, completing just 3-of-11 pass attempts for 20 yards and an interception. Gabbert didn't look any different than he has with the Jaguars for the past three seasons. It was generally accepted that he was a lock for the backup quarterback position this season, but after the game coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that the situation is "murky" going forward. This will be a situation to monitor leading up to the regular season.
