The Detroit Free Press hints the Lions will check in on second-tier free agent receivers like Brandon Gibson and Domenik Hixon.
With Nate Burleson in steady decline and Ryan Broyles recovering from another ACL tear, the Lions have a major need opposite Calvin Johnson. Greg Jennings would be a strong fit, but is likely too pricey. Gibson could make an impact as a chain-mover in the Lions' high-octane offense, but his reported demands (between $5-$6 million) will probably price him out of the Lions' range. Steve Breaston, Ramses Barden and Jerome Simpson are other possibilities.
