Russell Wilson QB SEA Jan 13 '13
Russell Wilson completed 24-of-36 passes for 385 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception and added seven rushes for 60 yards and a third score only to see the Seahawks fall 30-28 to the Falcons in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Wilson entered the game as the first rookie since the merger to lead three victories in the final two minutes or overtime, and nearly had a fourth after a brilliant touchdown drive to take the lead with 31 seconds remaining. After falling behind 20-0 at the half, Wilson started the next frame 10-of-10 for 185 yards and two touchdowns, nearly joining Frank Reich in history while making a series of big throws in the clutch. The performance resulted in the second-highest Total QBR rating (86.4) ever recorded in a loss. Coach Pete Carroll called Wilson an "amazing football player" after the game while expressing unbridled optimism about the state of his franchise with Wilson leading the charge.
