Although impending free agent Kevin Smith would like to re-sign with the Lions, he expressed disappointment with his 2012 role.

"Very, very disappointing, especially coming off the year I had last year coming back," said Smith, adding that he was never given a reason for his demotion. "I guess I wasn't good enough on a 4-12 team. ... I guess the guys that were in front of me made enough plays to keep me on the bench."

Dear Mr. Smith. Your coach is not ready for prime time. As a result, neither are the lions. You will do better elsewhere.

he is old, no one will pick him up to start if at all. you are right about the lions not being ready to play prime time in 2012. we shall see what they do for 2013.

He must have bagged Schwartz's wife or something. He needs to find a new team, but there may be no takers and/or he'll have to risk being a FA until injuries or underperformance send a team looking to the street.

yea, i honestly think he is out too.
