Philip Rivers QB SD Dec 24 '11
Philip Rivers completed 28-of-53 passes for 299 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in San Diego's Week 16 loss to the Lions.
Rivers simply couldn't get into a groove as the Lions roared to a 24-0 halftime lead, failing to match throws with Matthew Stafford as the Chargers generated only 76 yards in the passing game. He finally got into a rhythm in the second half, but it was too little, too late as the Bolts never got closer than 14 points. Both of his picks, which bring him to a career-worst 19 on the year, came in garbage time. Rivers should be able to end the year on a high note in Week 17 against an Oakland defense allowing an average of 247.5 passing yards.
