Updating a previous item, Colts RB Vick Ballard tore his ACL in Thursday's practice and will miss the remainder of the season.
The Colts have already placed Ballard on season-ending injured reserve and promoted Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad to serve as the No. 3 back. Ahmad Bradshaw is now locked into lead-back duties, while first-round megabust Donald Brown will mix in as the No. 2. Brown isn't worth picking up in fantasy leagues. Bradshaw was already ticketed for a bigger role this week, but he's now placed himself on the RB2 radar against the Dolphins. Ballard already lacked unique athleticism; he was a pedestrian runner. This injury will set him back.
It's part of the game. These guys are hybrid running back who are fast and agile like WRs and so they get injure easily like WRs. You hardly ever will see the 30 carries per game any more due to the spread offense and option plays of these new QB/RB hybrids in the league.
It's going to be a WR league and the WRs scores just as much as RBs in almost every league I play in.
