Lions claimed DT Corvey Irvin off waivers from the Panthers. Irvin never panned out as a 2009 third-round pick in Carolina, but the Lions likely had a high draft grade on him coming out of Georgia. Irvin will be given a shot to be Detroit's fourth defensive tackle until Nick Fairley gets healthy.
