Against the Odds (2012) - Wild Card Week fantasysharks.com Oct 15 '78
This week's lines are from USAToday.com (as of Thursday night).
ATS - Against the Spread; SU - Straight Up; O/U - Over/Under
Minnesota at Green Bay (-7.5)
The Vikings won at home last week against the Packers to clinch the 6th seed in the playoffs and they meet again this week, but this time in Green Bay.
Minnesota will lean on running back Adrian Peterson again, who missed breaking the single season rushing record by just nine yards last week.
Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb will play this week after missing last week's game due to an ankle injury. The Packers also welcome back safety Charles Woodson who has been out since October due to a fractured collarbone. With the Packers getting a little healthier this week and it being a home game, I see a different result this week. I expect the Packers to avenge their loss from last week and blow out the Vikings this week.
Gimme the Packers minus the points.
Seattle at Washington (+3)
These teams are very similar in that they both have running backs that are tough in between the tackles in Marshawn Lynch and Alfred Morris. The quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Robert Griffin III, are both rookies that can scramble, although Griffin III hasn't looked the same since getting hurt in Week 14. I don't expect him to make any big plays on the ground against the Seattle defense. This is where the teams differ. Seattle has a far better defense, ranking 1st in the league in points allowed and 4th in the league in total yards allowed while the Redskins rank 22nd in points allowed and 28th in total yards allowed. I'm expecting this to be a close game but Seattle is the better team.
Gimme the Seahawks minus the points.
Cincinnati at Houston (O/U 43)
The Texans have lost three of their last four and their defense has suffered injuries but still ranks 9th in the league in points allowed. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton hasn't looked sharp in the month of December, throwing for four touchdowns and five interceptions.
The Texans are 4-1 Under the total in their last five games and the Bengals are 7-1 Under the total in their last eight games.
Gimme the Under.
