The Washington Post expects WR/KR Brandon Banks to beat out Terrence Austin, Aldrick Robinson and Anthony Armstrong for the Redskins' final receiver spot. Robinson still has practice-squad eligibility, while Armstrong has been slowed by a shoulder injury. Banks has made only one catch in three preseason games after coach Mike Shanahan said he couldn't rely on his return ability alone to hold his roster spot, but Banks offered up a timely reminder of his game-breaking ability by taking a kick 91 yards to the house against Chicago.

that one surprises me. i love that kid. he is 5' 7", 150 lbs soak and wet. super fast and exciting to watch in the kickoff and punt return game. but as a receiver, he leaves a lot to be desired. after seeing S. Moss start the last game doing the returns, i thought it was over for this kid. i am glad it looks like he will stay but did not expect him to stay on as a guy who can only play special teams.
