Free agent Joseph Addai visited the Patriots, a source tells beat writer Shalise Manza Young.
Throw Addai into the over-the-hill gang of running backs the Patriots hosted Friday. At this point, it's thought that they're just looking at Ryan Grant, Tim Hightower and Addai for emergency kind of insurance. Addai has attracted no interest on the open market since getting dumped by the Colts.
I wouldn't mind seeing Addai reunited with Caldwell, in Baltimore. With the most recent Ricky Favre, I mean Williams, retirement, the Ravens need a good pass blocking back up for Ray Rice.
I don't see that Addai fills the goal line back role that Green-Ellis filled for them. The Pats will probably not turn that job over to Ridley or Vereen.
BJGE was not a goal line back for them, he was an all-purpose back. they dont play a style that needs a goal line back. they throw it into the end zone, they dont need to waste a roster spot on a "goal line" back. when they run it, its with any running back they got, or one time, rob gronkowski.
Yea, I was afraid of that but going strong in other areas left me weak at RB especially when there was a run of three straight RB's picked. There were still great WR available but I had 4 goodones already and needed a RB. I was hoping the loss of BJGE would vault him to the top of the pack. Now I hear they are bringing in all these guys like Hightower and Benson. Ihave two hopes. One, my friend drafted his first 3 RB's all with the same bye week. We didn't have that info until more than half the e-mail draft was done. I got lucky...no dupes. So, I may be lucky and get Fred Jackson from him. My only other hope is to getlucky in the rookie draft. I have the 4th pick and hoping I can land T Rich or trade Blackmon for that RB I need. TY

Well, I hope they don't sign anybody as I had to invest a serious pick on Ridley. Waited too long to get my back up RB. Crossing my fingers.

ridley wont have a huge year. pats dont run the ball enough for that. as a lifelong pats fan, id say 650 yds and 4 TDs.
