Mathews (ankle) was not at Wednesday's practice, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Per the report, it seems unlikely that Mathews will be available for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, a scenario that would set the stage for the Chargers to once again roll with a backfield committee led by Branden Oliver, with Donald Brown and Ronnie Brown also in the mix.
