Harrison Barnes SF GS 2 Days
Harrison Barnes had 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in Tuesday's comeback win over the Raptors.
One of Barnes' triples came at just the right time late and helped the Warriors pull of the improbable win, as they trailed by 27 points early in the third quarter. Barnes has been getting better and better with Andre Iguodala sidelined, but it could be time to sell high, as Iguodala should be back in the near future. He had a somewhat vigorous workout prior to tonight's game, so the clock is ticking. Barnes won't be useless, but won't be nearly as reliable once Iguodala is back in uniform, as well as the starting lineup.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 6 Days
Harrison Barnes matched his career-high 26 points on Friday with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer on 10-of-15 from the field.
Barnes was guarding Russell Westbrook on the game-winning shot and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time on defense tonight. He was terrific on offense and is getting it going with averages of 16.4 points, 3.6 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.2 triples per game in 42.2 minutes over his last five. He should keep up this pace while Andre Iguodala (hamstring) is out of the lineup.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 8 Days
Harrison Barnes shot 3-of-11 from the field for nine points with four rebounds, one steal and one turnover in 41 minutes against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
Barnes has been a minutes machine over the past five games, playing 43.6 per game with averages of 14.4 points, 4.8 boards, 0.8 steals and 1.4 triples. Tonight's game was his worst outing of the season and he'll look to bounce back against the Thunder on Friday.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 9 Days
Harrison Barnes played 39 minutes in his fifth start of the season on Tuesday, scoring 14 points with four boards, one steal and one 3-pointer on 6-of-12 shooting.
Even though Draymond Green was great with his seven points, three steals and three blocks, Barnes was still able to log some big minutes. He will continue to get at least two more starts with Andre Iguodala (hamstring) ruled out on Wednesday and Friday. The UNC product should be owned in all standard leagues.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 12 Days
Harrison Barnes played 45 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday with 13 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
He only made 4-of-12 from the field and was taken to the hole quite a bit by Nicolas Batum, so this wasn't his best game. Barnes getting 45 minutes is all the confirmation fantasy owners need that he's going to be a busy man on the wing while Andre Iguodala (hamstring) is out of the lineup. He should be owned in all leagues.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 13 Days
Harrison Barnes scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 44 minutes on Friday, and is poised to pick up big minutes and a big-time role with Andre Iguodala (hamstring) dealing with a serious hamstring injury.
Barnes has proven to be a Jekyll and Hyde type of player, impossible to use in fantasy leagues when he's asked to fill space, but dynamic like you see above when he's pressed into a more serious role. The former is what we're going to see while Iguodala is out, so run and don't want to add him with at least a couple of weeks in that role as an early prognosis. Iguodala gets an MRI on Saturday.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 15 Days
Harrison Barnes got his second start of the season on Wednesday and was terrific with a line of 16 points, eight boards, five assists and two 3-pointers in 49 minutes against the Grizzlies.
He was doing it all for the Warriors. Barnes was bringing the ball up, getting looks in isolation on the wing and playing some interior defense. His versatility will help get minutes at multiple spots on the court and the upside should garner attention of owners in standard leagues.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 16 Days
Harrison Barnes will join a starting five of Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut and David Lee on Wednesday.
Stephen Curry is out with a mild concussion, so coach Mark Jackson will put his best five players on the court. Iguodala has been effective as the point guard in certain spots and he will continue to bring the ball up. There should be plenty of offense to go around for this quintet.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 17 Days
Harrison Barnes scored 17 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-10 shots (including two threes) with five rebounds in 29 minutes.
Barnes did not record a steal or block and the lack of versatility in his fantasy game has been his undoing in the past. Even scoring 13.0 points with 1.0 threes and a 52.4 percent mark from the field in four games this week, he's clinging to 16-team value in his 26.7 minutes over that span. Whether he can add the versatility he needs or not, the more pertinent question is what he does to steal from teammates' value.
Harrison Barnes SF GS 21 Days
Harrison Barnes scored 16 points off the bench in 23 minutes during Thursday's 116-115 thrilling victory over the Thunder, adding three boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He cooled off over his previous three games with just a combined 17 points in that span. Barnes is a Jack of all trades for the Warriors and tonight was the first time he's attempted more than eight shots with his 6-of-14 shooting tonight. He could get hot for the high-powered Golden State offense, so he should be owned in standard leagues.
