Isaiah Thomas PG BOS 13 Days

Thomas (back) missed Monday's win versus the Sixers, and coach Brad Stevens said before opening tip that the guard was at least "three games away" from a return, Sports Illustrated reports.

Thomas sustained a bruised lower back and left elbow contusion last Monday, which is slowly but surely recovering. The aforementioned three-game timetable likely equates to absences through the weekend, though he could return during the Celtics' back-to-back set Sunday against the Pistons or Monday at Brooklyn.

Thomas (back) will not play Monday against the 76ers.

The Celtics initially hoped that Thomas would be able to return, but he'll miss his fourth straight game as he continues to deal with considerable soreness in his lower-back. Continue to consider Thomas day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday's matchup with Oklahoma City. Right now, it sounds as though the team is yet to decide whether Thomas will travel with the team.

Thomas (back) will not travel to Indiana on Saturday, and the hope remains that he will be able to return Monday, MassLive.com's Jay King reports.

Coach Brad Stevens said all Thomas was able to do Friday was jog a little on the treadmill, adding that Thomas is still very sore. He should be considered questionable for Monday's game, and hopefully we will learn his official status before weekly lineups lock that day. For now, the Celtics will lean heavily on Evan Turner to absorb the scoring load vacated by Thomas.

Thomas (back) may miss one week, Ben Rohrbach of WEEI reports. Coach Danny Ainge said, "It's pretty bad, pretty swollen on both sides of his lower back and his elbow."

This comes as a blow to owners, as Thomas has been on a tear of late, averaging 18.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.4 three-pointers made over the last four games. In light of this, Thomas could sit out for even longer than the originally estimated three games. Owners will have to stash him at this point unless missing the playoffs is a possibility. Meanwhile, Marcus Smart and Evan Turner should each get a slight boost in their value while Thomas is out.

Thomas (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports.

Thomas is battling a bruised lower-back as well as a bruised left elbow, so he'll be held out Wednesday. Phil Pressey should pick up some extra minutes off the bench, while Marcus Smart could see a minutes boost as well.

Thomas (back) has both a bruised lower-back and a bruised left elbow and is considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup with Orlando.

It looks like Thomas has avoided a major injury, but it's possible he could miss a game or two with lingering soreness. More will be known following Wednesday morning's shootaround.

Thomas took a hard fall at the end of Monday's game against the Heat and came away with a bruised lower back and right elbow.

The Celtics haven't released the status of Thomas for Wednesday's game against the Magic but he should be considered a game-time decision for the time being. If he ultimately stays off the court, Marcus Smart and Evan Turner will likely see added playing time.

Thomas scored 25 points (7-17 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 8-8 FT) to go along with one rebound and four assists in 31 minutes Monday against the Heat.

Thomas has played very well of late as he is averaging 23.5 points, 5.8 assists and 3.0 three-pointers in his last four games. He has taken on a larger scoring role since being traded to the Celtics and should continue to be one of their better offensively players down the stretch.

Thomas scored 20-plus points for the sixth time in eight games Friday in a win over the Pelicans, scoring 27 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT) in 29 minutes in addition to picking up three assists and a rebound.

Thomas has been on fire since joining the Celtics at the trade deadline. In his first seven games with the team, he averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds, which are all improvements over his numbers for the first part of the season with the Suns.

Isaiah Thomas PG BOS 25 Days

Thomas scored 21 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT) with seven assists, three rebounds and a steal in 26 minutes off the bench Wednesday.

He's now scored 20 or more points in five of seven games since joining the Celtics, and Thomas seems to be thriving as Boston's main offensive threat on their second unit. He may have trouble maintaining that scoring pace if he continues to see less than 30 minutes a night, however.
