Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 6 Hrs
Isaiah Thomas took the reins in Sacramento and delivered 24 points on 7-of-16 shooting with two rebounds, a career-high 12 assists and one steal while leading the Kings to an immediate win following the Rudy Gay trade on Monday.
We've written about it. We've begged for it. We've outright eviscerated prior Kings management for stonewalling it and we put a timer on current Kings management because it wasn't coming fast enough. Isaiah Thomas is officially the Kings starter according to Mike Malone and he's got a great shot at early round value with upside from there. The Pizza Guy is real and he is set to be spectacular.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 11 Hrs
Isaiah Thomas will start at point guard against the Mavericks on Monday.
He'll join Ben McLemore, Derrick Williams, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins. It's been an overdue move and now the Kings had no choice. Thomas should deliver a supreme line tonight against Jose Calderon and the Mavericks. Rookie Ray McCallum could get some minutes tonight while Jimmer Fredette may get a look with the Kings a little short-handed due to the trade.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 1 Day
Once Greivis Vasquez is traded to the Raptors, Isaiah Thomas should be the Kings' new full-time starting PG.
The promotion has been a long time coming and fantasy owners should snatch up IT2 if he's somehow still available on the waiver wire. He's averaging 17.8 points despite starting zero games so far this season, and in 62 starts last year he notched 15.1 points, 1.6 triples, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals in under 30 minutes per game. We're about to find out what IT2 can do without a PG minute-share cramping his value. Jimmer Fredette and rookie Ray McCallum are the most likely backup PGs in Sacramento once the deal is complete.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 2 Days
Isaiah Thomas terrorized the Utah defense on Saturday with 26 points, eight assists, four steals and one 3-pointer on 8-of-14 from the field in 32 minutes.
The Jazz weren't helping rookie Trey Burke and Thomas had a slew of easy looks at the basket tonight. He also made 9-of-10 from the line and tonight was the third time in his last four games in which he handed out at least eight assists. His minutes haven't been consistent all year, but his upside in fantasy will make him a must-own player.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 3 Days
Isaiah Thomas was a one-man wrecking crew throughout the first half of Friday's game against the Lakers, but was benched down the stretch and finished with 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting, two threes, two boards, nine assists and four steals in 25 minutes.
This one might leave a mark on Mike Malone as Thomas had just three turnovers on the night and the one he had wasn't bad enough to take him off the floor, especially when he has owned fourth quarters all year long. Malone put Greivis Vasquez (five points, 2-of-5 FGs, six assists, 23 minutes) back in the game and he immediately lost Steve Blake on a 3-pointer, while the offense sputtered without Thomas and the Kings lost at home to the rival Lakers. There's no value change here, and new ownership only gets a pass for so long before we start wondering if they know what they're doing when it comes to Thomas.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 4 Days
Kings coach Mike Malone has considered starting Isaiah Thomas this season, but no change is imminent.
Thomas has really outplayed starter Greivis Vasquez this season, averaging 17.6 points while shooting 45 percent and dishing out 4.5 assists, however Malone likes the spark that Thomas provides off the bench. "I go back and forth sometimes but I still feel the best thing for us is to start Greivis, give him an opportunity and then bring Isaiah in," Malone said. "And more times than not Isaiah is going to be on the floor when we close games, when we finish games." It's nice to know that Malone wants Isaiah in at the end of the game, and whether he's starting or coming off the bench he's still a solid fantasy option.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 6 Days
Isaiah Thomas hit 9-of-18 shots and three 3-pointers for 24 points, three assists and four steals in Tuesday's tough loss to the Thunder.
Thomas went through a lull where he scored a total of 14 points in two straight games, but has bounced back with 19 and 24 in his last two. He's a serious Sixth-man of the Year candidate and was simply fun to watch as the Kings tried to take out the Thunder.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 10 Days
Isaiah Thomas was held to single digit scoring for the second straight game on Friday, scoring five points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes.
Normally sure-handed, Thomas had four turnovers and the first unit was working well together so Mike Malone went with Greivis Vasquez (11 points, seven assists) tonight. Thomas has been the Kings' second best player all season long and though the Sacramento media works overtime to make Vasquez shine, Malone has been very sober in his assessments all season long and we doubt he goes away from IT2 anytime soon.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 19 Days
Isaiah Thomas scored a team-high 23 points in Wednesday's win at Phoenix, adding three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.
He's cooking right now and over his last five he's averaging 18.8 points, 2.6 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.0 triples. Thomas is as must own as it gets right now and there's no reason to think he will slow down.
Isaiah Thomas PG SAC 20 Days
Isaiah Thomas came off the bench on Tuesday, as usual, and scored 19 points with three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 6-of-12 shooting.
Despite not starting, Thomas is rolling right along, averaging 16.6 points, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 3-pointers over his last four games. He's simply a more reliable fantasy starter than teammate Greivis Vasquez, despite coming off the bench. Vasquez had another lackluster line with 11 points and six dimes in the start.
