Vernon Macklin will sign with Gaziantep of Turkey, according to his agent Greg Nunn.
Macklin played just 5.9 minutes per night and it took him until late April to see double-digit minutes in a game last year. The Florida Gator will obviously get more playing time in Turkey and perhaps he can work his way back into the NBA.

Unrestricted FA Vernon Macklin is reportedly drawing interest from the Nets, Suns, Bucks, Blazers and Lakers.
Macklin also has two offers from Greece and Turkey as well, but it sounds like he'll try to stay in the NBA. Macklin is an unrestricted free agent after the Pistons chose not to extend a qualifying contract offer, but the 2011 second-round draft pick torched the D-League last season with averages of 16.6 points and 17.2 rebounds. He should be able to find work as frontline depth somewhere, but he may find a more lucrative contract overseas.

Vernon Macklin will likely start at power forward or center for the Pistons during Summer League.
Macklin tore up the D-League in 10 games, averaging 14.5 points, 14.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.9 blocks before being recalled by Detroit. He has a long way to go before garnering interest in standard fantasy leagues.

Vernon Macklin will be active on Wednesday against the Hawks.
Macklin torched the D-League this season, but he hasn't played for the Pistons since March 3 and hasn't topped 10 minutes in a game this season. He could see some run down the stretch, but it's highly unlikely he'll work himself onto the fantasy radar.

Vernon Macklin will see some playing time before the season ends.
Macklin spent the majority of the season in the D-League where he tore it up with averages of 16.6 points and 17.2 rebounds, so Lawrence Frank wants to get a look at what he can do before the season ends. He's not a fantasy option.

With Charlie Villanueva back, Macklin was no longer needed to provide depth at the end of the bench. He is averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 19 games this season.
