Kenneth Faried (ankle) will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.

He did not play in Saturday's game and he's unlikely to be at his season average of 28.1 minutes per game. The Warriors not having David Lee and the Nuggets getting Faried back is a huge swing in favor of Denver, so the deck is certainly stacked against the Warriors in this series.

Coach George Karl said he's still unsure how many minutes Kenneth Faried (ankle) will play in Tuesday's Game 2.

Faried will get in the game, but likely off the bench for limited minutes. With David Lee (hip) sidelined for the Warriors, the Nuggets won't need the Manimal's rebounding ability too much anyway. Look for Wilson Chandler to get the majority of power forward minutes once again.

Although it remains doubtful, George Karl left the door open for Kenneth Faried (ankle) to start in Game 2 rather than come off the bench.

Faried will likely come off the bench as he works his way back in with Wilson Chandler remaining in the starting lineup, but Karl said he'll test Faried at shootaround to see how he looks. If Faried does play his way into the starting lineup, Chandler will likely move back to the bench since Karl has already said he prefers using him in that role.

Nuggets coach George Karl says Kenneth Faried (ankle) likely won't start Tuesday night.

Faried missed Game 1 of the Nuggets' series against the Warriors but deemed himself ready to return Monday. Karl wasn't quite as definitive, although it seems like Faried will be active in some sense. It's still unclear how many minutes Faried is ready to play, although it's likely to be a smaller amount than normal. Wilson Chandler will likely continue to start as long as Faried is coming off the bench.

Kenneth Faried (ankle) is ready to return to the Nuggets lineup for Game 2 after missing Game 1 vs. the Warriors.

Faried deemed himself ready to go after missing three total games. "You can't sit me out that long," he said. It's still not clear whether Faried will start or come off the bench, but if Faried does start, Wilson Chandler will return to his usual role off the bench.

Kenneth Faried, who missed Saturday's Game 1 with a sprained left ankle, says he's going to play in Game 2 against the Warriors.

"I want to play," he said. "You can't keep a person who wants to play, down. With my job and my commitment and the things I've been doing with the training staff, I'm just focused and locked in and getting better. I'm going to play." The Nuggets will look for Faried to have a huge role against the Warriors, who lost David Lee for the remainder of the playoffs with a torn hip flexor. Faried plans to practice on Monday and we should have a better idea of his availability for Game 2 after that. But barring a setback, it sounds like he's going to play.

When asked if Kenneth Faried (ankle) would play in Game 2 vs. the Warriors, George Karl responded, "I think he's moving in that direction."

Faried was in uniform for Game 1, but as expected, he never left the bench. The exciting second-year forward is continuing to progress from his injury and has a real chance to be ready after missing just one playoff game. It's not yet clear if he'd start in Game 2 if he's healthy enough to play or if he'd be limited in some capacity.
