20 Days Charlotte Bobcats The "list of known candidates" for the open Bobcats coaching position is comprised of: Jeff Hornacek, Kelvin Sampson, Nate Tibbetts, Elston Turner and Alvin Gentry. Hornacek is currently an assistant in Utah, Sampson in Houston and Tibbetts in Cleveland, whereas Turner was most recently an assistant in Phoenix and Gentry was canned by the Suns during the 2012/13 season. Charlotte has no timetable to make their next hire but the list is five candidates long with the potential to grow. | 21 Days Charlotte Bobcats Alvin Gentry will interview for the Bobcats head coaching vacancy, according to David Aldridge. Gentry would be an interesting fit in Charlotte, and while the Bobcats will interview several candidates, we'd have to imagine Gentry will get a serious look given his experience on the sidelines. The Bobcats have to hire a coach capable of staying on the bench for more than a season or two. | 23 Days Charlotte Bobcats Nate Tibbetts will interview for the vacant Bobcats coach position. Tibbetts, an assistant with the Cavs, also interviewed for the job last season before Charlotte hired Mike Dunlap. Tibbetts has a noted reputation of being a defensive-minded coach as well as being good with player development, both traits the Bobcats are looking for with their next head coach. | 27 Days Charlotte Bobcats Alvin Gentry told the Charlotte Observer that he'd like to become the next coach of the Bobcats. Gentry would actually be an interesting fit in Charlotte. "It reminds me a little bit of the teams I had in L.A. (with the Clippers): Young players, very energetic guys,'' Gentry said. "Kemba (Walker) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist have a lot of potential and (Gerald) Henderson has started to really establish himself as a pro." We'd suspect Gentry should get a shot, but there's nothing to suggest (yet) that he's the favorite. | 1 Month Charlotte Bobcats Kemba Walker wrapped up a surprisingly great season with 24 points, four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, a block and three 3-pointers on 6-of-16 shooting in Wednesday's win over the Cavs. The Bobcats finished the season with three straight wins in three straight meaningless games, and Walker will finish the season worthy of a second-round fantasy pick. And there's no reason he won't be even better next season. | 1 Month Charlotte Bobcats Kemba Walker handed out a career-high 13 assists to go with 23 points, four boards, one steal and two 3-pointers on 9-of-15 shooting in Monday's 106-95 win over the Knicks. Kemba has really put it together in his sophomore season and shooting 42 percent from the field in leaps and bounds better than his 37 percent last year. His 13 assists are more than double his season average of 5.6 and he'll look to become a bigger facilitator next year. | 1 Month Charlotte Bobcats Kemba Walker shot 9-of-21 from the field for 28 points with five boards, six assists and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Pistons on Friday. He's taking more threes these days, but he's hardly been any good at converting his attempts. Before the All-Star break, Kemba shot 34 percent from behind the arc, but he's made just 27 percent since that point. He'll be an interesting target in fantasy leagues next year. | |
