Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 3 Hrs
Jonas Valanciunas shot 6-of-8 from the field and made both free throws for 14 points with four boards, two assists and four turnovers in 28 minutes against the Spurs on Tuesday.
He scored 10 points in the first quarter and fizzled out the rest of the way. The good news on Valanciunas is he should have more chances to score with Rudy Gay in Sacramento. Considering his favorable output in percentages and how he's shown he's capable of blocking shots, fantasy owners should be feeling a lot better about exercising some patience.

Jonas Valanciunas double-doubled in Friday's loss to the Suns, scoring 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds and no steals or blocks in 29 minutes.
It's not a great line but Tyler Hansbrough's shoulder injury opened up a few more minutes and if he misses any time that could make Valanciunas a more viable starter. For now, he's just a high profile stash in standard leagues.

Jonas Valanciunas had just eight points, six rebounds and one block in 27 minutes in Tuesday's disastrous loss to the Warriors.
Valanciunas had 18 points, 11 boards and three blocks in 37 minutes on Sunday, but returned to form on Tuesday. There's still plenty of hope for the future, but he's simply been too inconsistent to put in your lineup on a regular basis this season. The Raptors blew a 27-point second-half lead tonight in the 112-103 loss.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 9 Days
Jonas Valanciunas had a big game in a 112-98 loss to the Nuggets on Sunday, scoring 18 points with 11 boards and three blocks in 37 minutes.
Valanciunas got off to a fast start thanks to six offensive boards in the first quarter and had a big start to his third quarter, as well. The Raptors pounded the ball in the paint to JV and his 16 field goal attempts were a season high. His owners have dealt with their fair share of headaches, but it still feels like the patience is going to pay off.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey suggested that he may change his starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. Denver.
Amir Johnson played only 18 minutes on Friday, while Jonas Valanciunas played 18 minutes, and either guy could be benched in favor of Tyler Hansbrough. "I think you have to look at the chemistry, skill set, what they bring to the table, a little bit of everything," Casey said. "It's not that we're not playing hard, it's just not meshing together with the first group." Hansbrough may be worth a speculative add in deeper formats, but everyone else should sit tight and watch how this develops.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 11 Days
Jonas Valanciunas was benched in the Raptors' 90-83 loss to the Heat on Friday, playing 18 minutes on his way to four points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.
Valanciunas would tear through the Heat if given the chance, but Dwane Casey wanted to go with his inefficient wing attack for the millionth time tonight. The good news (if there is any) is that he's producing at a 12-14 team level in the worst possible circumstances, so holding here is a pretty easy call considering he has mid-round upside.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 18 Days
Jonas Valanciunas played a season-high 37 minutes against the Wizards on Friday and had 11 points, 13 boards and one block on 5-of-14 shooting.
The Raptors won, so coach Dwane Casey should be happy with the result of playing his big man so many minutes. JV has played 30.4 minutes per game over his last five, which is right where he needs to be to be turning in some must-start numbers. Valanciunas' shot hasn't been dropping in that span making just 42.5 percent from the field, but he should definitely get it going soon enough. His owners should stick with him through thick and thin.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 20 Days
Jonas Valanciunas hit just 1-of-4 shots for four points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in 22 minutes of Wednesday's win.
Valanciunas is becoming very tough to own, but it's not really his fault. Rudy Gay, DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry are getting nearly all the shots and JV is having a tough time finding his role on the court with so many gunners on hand. He's scored exactly four points in three of his last four games, making him nearly impossible to throw into starting lineups. Bench him if you can, and while we cannot endorse dropping him in most instances, JV's owners need to take a close look at their center situation and make a decision on what to do with him going forward. Look for him to start showing up on waiver wires after tonight's dud.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 23 Days
Jonas Valanciunas played 35 minutes against the Blazers on Sunday, shooting 8-of-11 from the field for 19 points with 11 boards and one block.
His minutes and points were both season highs in the overtime loss and he really needed a strong effort after a couple hideous four-point duds. While the numbers haven't been there over his last three, he's played 29 minutes per game over that span. His owners should exercise some patience.
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR 25 Days
Jonas Valanciunas scored four points on 2-of-5 shooting with eight rebounds and two assists but did not have any steals or blocks in 28 minutes on Friday.
The Raptors struggled so it's not surprising that JV would also struggle, but he has been totally mismanaged by Dwane Casey and it may be getting in his head. Owners obviously can't throw in the towel but he should be on benches until he gets things straight. Kyle Lowry was in the same boat with just 3-of-15 makes for six points, three rebounds and eight assists in the blowout loss.
