Tristan Thompson PF/C CLE 1 Month

Thompson may become a reserve with Kevin Love reportedly headed to Cleveland. The 6-9 forward started every game for the Cavaliers over the last two seasons.

Thompson will either head to the bench to back up Love or form a center platoon with the oft-injured Anderson Varejao. In either case, he is unlikely to put up near double-double numbers (11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds) as he did as a starter. He will have value in deeper leagues as a rebounding option.

Tristan Thompson double-doubled in Friday's loss to the Bucks, scoring 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting (8-of-10 FTs) with 10 rebounds and one block in 35 minutes.

Anderson Varejao (17 minutes) is a shutdown candidate and though the opponent tonight should be noted, it's possible that Thompson can give owners some points and boards to finish the year.

Tristan Thompson looked great against the Pacers on Sunday with 12 points, 16 boards, one assist and two steals in 30 minutes.

With Anderson Varejao (shoulder) going down today, Thompson should be back around his season average of 32 minutes per night. Thompson didn't play more than 28 in any of his previous four games, but the extra playing time won't help him raise his ceiling in fantasy for low shooting percentages and block totals.

Tristan Thompson struggled to defend Paul Pierce on the perimeter during Friday's game, but coach Mike Brown blamed Pierce's 17-point first quarter on the Cavaliers' poor rotations.

"We weren't locked into what we were supposed to be doing [defensively], we were just kind of out there running around," Brown said after the game. Dion Waiters suggested that the Nets' methodical pace took the Cavs out of their rhythm, but ultimately the excuses for Cleveland's loss can't mask the fact that they're 3.5 games out of the playoffs with under three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Tristan Thompson missed all three of his shots for six points and six rebounds in 22 minutes of Wednesday's comeback win over the Pistons.

He had a 15 & 13 double-double on Tuesday, nine points and four rebounds on Sunday, and a 10 & 12 double-double on Saturday. With Anderson Varejao and Luol Deng back and getting heavy minutes, expect plenty of inconsistency from Thompson going forward.

Coming off a streak of lousy games, Tristan Thompson stepped up to score 15 points and grab 13 rebounds in Tuesday's much-needed win vs. the Raptors.

Opposing frontcourts don't usually fare well against the Raptors, which makes Thompson's nice double-double even more surprising -- he made 3-of-4 FGs and 9-of-10 FTs in his highest-scoring game since March 1. Thompson's defensive stats are disappointing for a mobile 6'9" big man, and his spotty offense isn't enough to give him standard-league fantasy value.

Tristan Thompson played through an illness to finish Tuesday's game with 10 points, four rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes.

He had food poisoning on Monday but still managed to post a better line than he had in the past four games, when he shot just 28.6 percent from the field. Given his poor play and lack of versatility in fantasy leagues, he's unlikely to help owners even in a four-game week.

Tristan Thompson bottomed out in Sunday's loss, scoring just two points on 1-of-6 shooting with one rebound and three personal fouls in 20 minutes of action.

The Cavs' starting PF has been a disaster over the past four games, shooting 8-of-28 from the field with more fouls (12) than combined assists, steals and blocks (nine). With fantasy playoffs in full swing there's simply no reason to hold onto him in the hopes of a bounce-back effort.

Tristan Thompson shot 2-of-8 from the field for five points with 10 boards in 30 minutes against the Spurs on Tuesday.

He was putting up some frequent double-doubles over his last 10, averaging 15.3 points, 11.5 boards, 1.4 assists, 0.1 blocks and 0.6 steals. Thompson's shot blocking has gone down in a big way this season, so his fantasy value has suffered despite posting career highs in points and boards so far this year.

Tristan Thompson scored 18 points with 14 boards on 9-of-13 shooting against the Jazz on Friday.

Utah has one of the worst interior defenses in the NBA and Thompson's six offensive boards helped him out tonight. As per usual, he didn't have any steals or blocks, which has really kept him from holding value in many formats.
