Enes Kanter C UTA 17 Hrs
Enes Kanter came off the bench and had 13 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes.
He didn't have a steal or a block, but was still effective, even with Derrick Favors finally posting a nice line. Kanter is averaging 14.4 points and 9.6 boards over his last five games, but has just one block over that span. And with Favors finally playing better tonight, Kanter's future remains murky while coming off the bench. Start him next week at your own risk.
Enes Kanter C UTA 2 Days
Enes Kanter scored nine points on 3-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds, one steal and one block in Friday's blowout loss.
We'd actually take this line with the defensive stats over some of his other scoring and rebounding efforts. If Kanter can do something to address his invisible numbers on D, then it would go a long way toward pushing up his floor and also giving him some upside. As it stands, he's worth owning for some of his recent numbers and the chance he gets developed down the stretch but expectations should still be in check.
Enes Kanter C UTA 6 Days
Enes Kanter exploded for 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting (11-of-12 FTs) with 14 rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes off the bench on Monday.
The game wasn't close and Kanter was rolling so he got the big minutes tonight with Derrick Favors (two points, five boards, 19 minutes) and Marvin Williams (five points, four boards, two assists, one three, 17 minutes) riding the pine. We've always known that Kanter can fill up the points and boards when he gets the minutes, but until he starts stealing and blocking the ball he'll be an iffy start unless his minutes are guaranteed.
Enes Kanter C UTA 11 Days
Enes Kanter played 16 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday with two points, one board and three assists.
He committed four fouls and shot just 1-of-5 from the field. HIs 12-point game on Monday seems like a massive line compared to this stinker tonight, so his owners should probably be moving on for guys like Kent Bazemore, Tony Allen or Jordan Farmar at this point.
Enes Kanter C UTA 13 Days
Enes Kanter moved back to the bench and scored 12 points with five boards and nothing else on Monday against the Celtics.
Defense and defensive stats have been Kanter's problem all season and unless he's going for 20 and eight he's not a must-start player in standard formats when that is the case.
Enes Kanter C UTA 13 Days
Enes Kanter will move back to the bench on Monday.
The move will likely be for the foreseeable future, but Derrick Favors' health has been a major issue. Kanter owners might want to hang in there in most leagues just to see how it plays out. Chances are Favors' minutes won't be what they were before the injury.
Enes Kanter C UTA 15 Days
Enes Kanter hit 11-of-14 shots for 25 points, seven rebounds and a steal in another start on Saturday, but didn't block a shot.
Kanter had 25 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on Friday, as Derrick Favors continues to sit with his troublesome hip injury. He also had 18 points and 10 rebounds in the game prior, and is crushing it with Favors in street clothes. Why Kanter can't start at center, with Favors replacing Marvin Williams at PF, is beyond us, but given Marvin's struggles over the last two games, our wish might finally come true. Do not cut Kanter when (or if) Favors returns.
Enes Kanter C UTA 16 Days
Enes Kanter scored 25 points on 12-of-20 shooting with 10 rebounds, a career-high four assists, one steal and three blocks in Friday's loss to the Blazers.
That's more like it. Steals and blocks have been the big drag on Kanter's value whether he has started or come off the bench and maybe he's getting the message in that department. With Derrick Favors dealing with a hip injury, Kanter should be owned in all formats after a night like this. Marvin Williams had just four points but did have a steal and block, Trey Burke scored 21 points with six rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three treys, Gordon Hayward scored 17 points with seven boards, seven assists and one three, and Alec Burks scored 12 points with four boards in the loss.
Enes Kanter C UTA 18 Days
Enes Kanter made his 23rd start of the season on Wednesday vs. the Nets, scoring 18 points with 10 boards, one assist and two turnovers in 33 minutes.
Derrick Favors is banged up with his oft-injured hip and it allowed Kanter to get some extra run again. He's been terrific in games without Favors all season and should remain owned in all leagues until proven otherwise.
Enes Kanter C UTA 25 Days
Enes Kanter came off the bench and had 12 points, seven rebounds and a block in a win over the Sixers on Wednesday.
Derrick Favors left this one early with an aggravation of his hip injury, clearing the way for Kanter to get 29 minutes and some nice production. He's very inconsistent when Favors is healthy, but becomes a must-start when he's out. We'll have to see how Favors' hip is doing once the season resumes next week before figuring out Kanter's short-term outlook.
