Through the last five games, he's averaging 17.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.0 block, and 0.4 three-pointers in 34 minutes per game, shooting 52 percent from the field and 92 percent from the free-throw line.

Kanter wasn't ejected from the game, but the league is likely going to review the play to see if further consequences are necessary. Though it's unlikely at this point, Kanter could face a suspension, which means he should be considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

Derrick Favors returned to the lineup Wednesday, but Kanter was still able to post solid numbers. He's been getting more consistent court time recently, playing more than 30 minutes in four of the last five games and averaging 17.8 points, 9.8 boards and 1.0 blocks in those four contests. If he can hold onto those minutes going forward, Kanter's value would take a big jump.

The Jazz have played the matchup game against some teams to get a better defensive unit on the court, and that's left Kanter on the outside looking in at times this season. While he has the potential to be a double-double threat who can sink a three-pointer and get an occasional block, Kanter is getting looked over against teams that use legit stretch power forwards like the Pelicans with Ryan Anderson. Keep that in mind if considering Kanter for a daily games lineup.

Kanter has had his inconsistencies to this point in 2014, but tonight was a strong outing for the big man. Kanter has serious potential, and if he can remain consistent then he'll be a very good fantasy option.

Kanter was limited to just 12 minutes on the court Friday as coach Quin Snyder didn't like the big man's matchup with the small lineup that the Knicks put out on the court, the Deseret News reports. "Tonight was just one of those matchup nights at that position. That's a tough position in the NBA," said Snyder of Kanter at power forward.

Kanter fell out of favor last season with former coach Ty Corbin as he ultimately was moved to a role off the bench. The regime change with Snyder put Kanter back into the starting five this season although a similar situation is looming in Utah as Kanter played under 20 minutes for the second time this year without being in foul trouble. For the time being Kanter remains as a starter in Utah, but four different players came off the bench to play more minutes than the former third overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft on Friday.
