Hayward expects to play the stretch-four in certain situations this season, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

With Quinn Snyder replacing Tyrone Corbin as the head coach, Hayward expects to see his role with the team expand. While the vast majority of his minutes will likely come at shooting guard and small forward, he could slide up to the power forward spot in certain situations, like if Enes Kanter or Derrick Favors are in foul trouble. Hayward played just four percent of his minutes at power forward last season, per Basketball-Reference, but he's bulked up this summer in anticipation of that number rising.

The Jazz have officially matched Charlotte's four-year, $63 million offer sheet for Gordon Hayward.

Utah may have been forced to overpay a bit to retain Hayward, but it's not an unreasonable deal for a 24-year-old who has increased his scoring in each of his four NBA seasons. Hayward's shooting percentage slipped to 41.3 percent last season but he picked it up elsewhere, averaging 16.2 points, 1.1 triples, 5.1 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.4 steals. The arrival of Dante Exum should take some pressure off Hayward and Trey Burke in the backcourt, and Hayward is a likely bet to retain top-50 fantasy value in Utah.

Restricted free agent Gordon Hayward has officially signed the Charlotte Hornets' offer sheet.

The 72-hour clock for the Jazz to match Hayward's four-year, $63 million offer sheet will now officially start, which gives Utah approximately until Sunday afternoon to make their decision. "There's never been any bad blood with the Jazz, and there have always been good-faith negotiations," Hayward's agent said. "We weren't able to make a deal last fall and this is what happens. This is the free agency process." Reports have indicated that the Jazz will indeed match the Hornets' offer, but as we've learned this offseason, reports don't always come to fruition.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Jazz were prepared for Gordon Hayward to receive a max-offer and still plan on matching Charlotte's offer.

Hayward will sign a four-year, $63 million offer sheet with the Hornets, but it sounds like the Jazz are fully prepared to match. They don't have a lot of other places to put their money and the former Butler Bulldog will now make more money than several NBA stars, regardless of where he's playing. If he left Utah, Alec Burks and rookie Rodney Hood would see a big boost, but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen.

Rick Bonnell is reporting that free agent Gordon Hayward will sign a "major offer sheet" with the Hornets.

It's believed to be a big offer, and could even be a max-contract, which the Jazz will have an opportunity to match. It's been said that the Jazz will match any offer Hayward receives, but there is still a chance they would let him walk, if it is a max-offer. The Jazz will have 72 hours to respond after Hayward signs the offer sheet on July 10, and if Hayward goes to the Hornets, Gerald Henderson would take a substantial hit, while Hayward's value would expand. And if he's not with the Jazz next season, Alec Burks and rookie Rodney Hood should get a big boost. Stay tuned.

Restricted free agent Gordon Hayward will meet with the Hornets on Monday.

The Jazz are expected are expected to match any offer on Hayward, but the Hornets do have some room to make a big offer. The Cavs have also had a meeting with Hayward and could also be in the mix, but the LeBron James buzz likely moves Hayward down in their list of priorities.

Al Jefferson, who is a good friend of Hayward's from their days together in Utah, has reportedly been recruiting Hayward, and he will be part of the Hornets pitch next week. The Cavs, Celtics, and Suns have also expressed interest in Hayward, but the Jazz have stated time and again that intend to make Hayward the face of their franchise, and they will match any offer he receives on the open market.

Gordon Hayward is meeting with Cavaliers officials in Cleveland on Wednesday, and may be presented with a contract offer sheet.

Hayward is expected to command a huge deal worth a bare minimum of $10 million per season. The Suns have also been eager to give him an offer sheet, and the Celtics had expressed interest before agreeing to terms with Avery Bradley, but all along the Jazz have vowed to match offers for their restricted FA.

The Cavaliers are considering giving restricted free agent Gordon Hayward a "big offer sheet," according to ESPN's Marc Stein, but the Jazz are likely to match any offer.

Utah has been steadfast in their desire to keep Hayward, so they're in the driver's seat even if the Cavs, Suns or Celtics make a huge offer. Considering Jodie Meeks just earned about $6.5 million annually to sign a three-year deal with Detroit, the market for shooting guards is clearly tilted in Hayward's favor.

Restricted FA Gordon Hayward has been contacted by Celtics GM Danny Ainge and coach Brad Stevens, according to the Boston Globe.

The Suns are also making a hard push to sign Hayward to an offer sheet, but it may prove futile since the Jazz are expected to match almost any offer for their 24-year-old SG.
