Favors expects to dish out more assists in Quin Snyder's offense during the 2014-15 season, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

At Monday's media day, Favors specifically mentioned tallying 10 assists in one game at some point in the upcoming campaign, which is a stretch considering he logged a career-best 1.2 dimes per outing last year. With 293 career contests under his belt in four seasons, he's only recorded four or more dimes on six occasions. However, five of them occurred in 2013-14, meaning the center could be developing a feel for passing as he enters his age-23 season. Because two returning members of the Jazz contributed five-plus assists last year -- Trey Burke (5.7) and Gordon Hayward (5.2) -- further flow in the offense is unlikely to afford Favors significant opportunities to contribute in the category.

The Jazz have reportedly been in talks with the Cavs with a deal centering around Derrick Favors and the Cavs' No. 1 pick.

Utah radio man Spencer Checketts says that Favors and the Jazz's No. 5 pick are on the table for the Cavs' No. 1 overall pick, with their No. 23 pick, Alec Burks and/or a future unprotected first-round pick as sweeteners. Cleveland-friendly writer Sam Amico later tweeted that the deal would require Favors, Burks, the No. 5 pick, the No. 23 pick and "potentially" Jarrett Jack. Some reliable writers such as Marc Stein have weighed in saying that the Jazz moving Favors is not likely.

Derrick Favors' camp hasn't heard the rumors of a possible trade involving Favors being sent to the Cavs.

Pro Basketball Draft reported that the Jazz are discussing a deal to send the fifth pick and Favors for the top pick in the draft. While the Jazz may be losers as part of the Joel Embiid (foot) injury fallout because it's unlikely they'll be able to get Jabari Parker or Dante Exum, this seems like a steep price. In other words, move along, nothing to see here.

Jazz president Randy Rigby said that his team will look at "much more than 20" candidates to fill their vacant head coach position.

The candidates will run the gamut from "iconic players" to international and NCAA coaches, though Rigby said the Jazz haven't yet narrowed their list to any specific names. Whoever takes the job will have a major project on their hands, as Utah finished 25-57 last season and they could lose leading scorer Gordon Hayward in restricted free agency this summer.

Derrick Favors scored 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting with eight rebounds and no steals or blocks in the Jazz's 111-99 loss to the Blazers on Friday.

Favors' season will go down as a disappointment, but he has managed to return top 40-45 value over the last month. Pending a solid offseason, he'll go down as a post-hype candidate next year. Enes Kanter scored 15 points with 13 rebounds, four assists and one block in the loss and he should be in lineups going forward.

Derrick Favors shot 6-of-9 both from the field and from the line for 18 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in Friday's loss to the Pelicans.

Favors has had a few poor shooting games as of late, but he continued his generally strong recent play in Friday's loss. He's now averaging 12.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks over his last five games and is averaging a full block more per game during that span. Favors may never be a great scorer, but he should continue to be a great source of rebounds, steals, and blocks as long as he's healthy.

Derrick Favors hit 10-of-16 shots for 22 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in Wednesday's loss.

Favors is finally playing power forward instead of center (Enes Kanter) now that Marvin Williams has finally been tossed out of the starting five. He looked great tonight, but is on an 'every-other-game' run right now. He had 15 points and four rebounds a week ago Monday, six points and eight boards last Wednesday, 11 points, 12 boards and five blocks on Saturday, four points and nine rebounds on Monday, and then tonight's big double-double and full stat line. Make sure he's in your lineup, despite the roller coaster ride.

Derrick Favors had a mixed night in Monday's loss, hitting just 1-of-5 shots and 2-of-8 free throws for four points but managing nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block.

Favors is a mess from the standpoint of untapped potential, but at least he's making noise in a handful of categories on most nights. He has produced at a mid-round level for the last two weeks and that's probably a win in most owners eyes these days.

Derrick Favors double-doubled against the Magic on Saturday with 11 points, 12 boards, three assists and five blocks in 36 minutes.

It's the first time he's blocked multiple shots since Mar. 8 and he only had 1.2 per game in March. It looked like Favors was about to make a leap with his 2.0 blocks in February with only 2.4 fouls to go with it, but he's also fouled a little more this month with 3.4 per game. His minutes and overall stats are up, so he's paying dividends for his patient owners.
